May 4, 2010 6:34 AM in response to wolffer6999by Texas Mac Man,★HelpfulTo totally reload the OS you have to use a base OS 9.x install CD. Then you can update the OS using the downloads at this site http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1387 The updates must be installed in the order specified.
Have you run Disk First Aid from a system CD to see if there are problems with your current OS?

There are no legal downloads of OS 9 out there, your best bet is to buy a legal copy off eBay. Be careful as some folks are pirating the SW by making copies and selling these...
You might also want to look for install disks for the first generation eMac as their install disks will work on other Macs unlike most others though this might not be as kosher...
