Update: I was able to get lynux swap off my partition but now I can't resize mac hd to take up all the space. it just says it failed resizing partition. and i still can't use bootcamp assistant because mac hd isn't filling the space. should i now just delete reFIT? Maybe thats causing the problem? I'm not sure where to go from here without messing something up. Here's the new error I get when trying to resize mac hd under disk utility to take up all the space: "Partition failed. Partition failed with the error:MediaKit reports partition (map) too small."

Ok everyone, I actually figured it out on my own. What I've been hearing is you need to completely reinstall the mac osx, but this is not true. Here's how to completely get Ubuntu off your computer if you need help like I did: (Note this will only work if you have reFIT installed).
1)Go to disk utility and click on your main hard drive. you're in the right place if the partition tab appears.
2)Click on the partition tab.
3)Remove all the partitions except for the mac hd one and also lynux swap won't go away. (Mine was wierd- I tried to remove them and I got an error but upon returning to disk utility later they were gone).
4)Go to the lynux swap disk in disk utility and use the erase.
5)Now you will be able to hit the minus to get rid of it on the main hard drive.
7)Go to the refit partition tool and hit y to accept changes.
8)Now go back to disk utility and make the mc hd partition completely fill the space.
9)Remove reFIT from your computer (Instructions on their web page).
That's it, I got back all my space and am able to use bootcamp once again. Please note you should back up you're files as Idk consequences to doing this, I was blindly following my instinct on what to do. Hope it helps.Macbook6,1, Mac OS X (10.6.2)
I'am a new user of mac, and get this problem too about deleting linux (that didn't install correctly).
I'va finally been able to delete all the partitions that weren't Mac, but i can't refill all my hardrive with OSX. It says me that the partition is too small to do it.
What can i do? Because right now o'm stuck with and empty space and i can't use bootcamp anymore.
Thanks for your advices, and sorry for my mistakes in english.MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.2)
I had the same problem until 5 minutes ago. I solved it.
1. Downloading rEFIT
3. Reboot (you will boot into Mac OS X)
4. Reboot (you will boot into rEFIT)
5. Select the partition inspector
6. Press "Y" to sync (I don't know if it's going to ask you, for me it did)
7. Boot into OS X (by selecting the right button in rEFIT)
8. Resize your partition in Disk UtilityMacBook6,1, Mac OS X (10.6.3)
