In order to add a supported Palm OS device in iSync you must choose the Enable Palm OS Syncing… option at the bottom of the Devices menu item, and not the standard Add Device option.PowerBook G4 12 inch 1.5 GHz 1280 meg 80 gig SuperDrive, Mac OS X (10.4.11), coupled with a UMA-capable Nokia 7510 Supernova and T-Mobile HotSpot™ @Home
I am contemplating abandoning my third Palm after over ten years. This is mostly due to the mess made by Palm Sync with my Mac's and work PC. Can't live without my Palm. The requisite cleanup process has worn too thin of late, though.
I am considering an iPhone to combine my Palm database as well as a cellphone. My work Cell is way past its due date and is in dire need of replacement.
Several trials at dumping the Palm DB into iCal, AddressBook, To Do and Memos have met with dismal failure.
Anyone out there know how to work that with better success?PowerBook G4 15", Mac OS X (10.5.8), Plus iMac G4 Flat Panel
You cannot directly import existing Palm data into either the Address Book or iCal.
To extract existing contact information from the Palm Desktop and transfer it to the Address Book, export your Palm contacts as a vCard file, then import those into the Address Book.
To extract existing event information from the Palm Desktop and transfer it to iCal, export your Palm calendar information as a vCal file, then import those into into iCal.
Task or To Do information cannot be exported in a manner which produces a file compatible with iCal, nor can Memos be imported into the non-existing equivalent Apple application under OS X.
If you encounter difficulties with the Palm export process, try to select a small set of records to export and do each process repeatedly until the entire file has been exported. At times, I have seen an effective limit of about 200 contact records to export at once, for example.PowerBook G4 12 inch 1.5 GHz 1280 meg 80 gig SuperDrive, Mac OS X (10.4.11), coupled with a UMA-capable Nokia 7510 Supernova and T-Mobile HotSpot™ @Home
