Q: Apple Laserwriter 4/600 paper jam

I LOVE my LW4/600, I've had it for years without 1 problem, now it keeps saying there's a paper jam, but I don't see anything that would be causing a problem. I do notice that when I put paper in the tray, there's a rubber roller that seems to catch and cause the paper to gather in the corner. I've never noticed this before, but it's possible it always was like that. Any suggestions. I hate to say goodbye to an old, hard worker!

probably too late ... but i just, like 10 minutes ago, fixed MY beloved 4/600. the problem sounds similar. in addition to "paper jam" light, mine was making a straining motor sound. i replaced the motor and voila. not as hard as it sounds. here's a link to the printer service i found helpful in diagnosis. http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/kits/apple/K58.

i think that rubber roller should put itself back in place when all the gears turn properly.

    hope this helps.
