Hy guys, I've downloaded Safari 5 and I really like it, but I've this weird problem:

When I want to put the iMac on stop, if safari is running the mac freeze and I've to shut it down pressing the power button.
If safari 5 is not running he goes on stop.

Any ideas?

    HI,

When I want to put the iMac on stop

    Do you mean Sleep?

Check your System Preferences/Energy Saver settings. You may have it set to sleep after a certain amount of time the computer is not being used.

For the first time in nearly 4 years have I ever had such an issue with my Mac.
Running 10.6.3 on a MacBook Pro C2Duo 2.33 and installed Safari 5 a couple of days ago.

Now the machine automatically goes to sleep when on power (which was originally configured to stay awake) and each time I awake it from Sleep it hangs the screen saver and the beach ball spins.

I just checked mine, and these settings had been changed to 10mins for computer and display while under power. This was not changed by me.
Is it possible that the Safari 5 installer changed it?

I have the problem that when I wanted to change the settings, Safari5 froze. When I tried to force-quit it, it wouldn't. When I tried to reboot Finder it wouldn't.
In the end I had to reboot with the start button...

    Download is also finicky....

    HI,

Try installing the v10.6.3 v1.1 Combo Update T

    Then repair disk permissions...

Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
