Can you explain? Give details? If an item is marked free, there should be no charge for it, but you will still be required to have an account (which requires a credit card) and enter the account password in order to download the item.MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.2), iTunes 9, iPod Video (and an old iMac running OS 9)
Sometimes it is listed under Free on the main page but when you go to the actual page to download, it isn't.
It's because the pages are not sync'd and it may take a bit 'till they are.iMac G5 (Rev B) ALS - 2 GB RAM, Mac OS X (10.5.8), silver mini, blue mini, silver shuffle, iTunes 9.1.1 (12)
Free on iTunes has always been FREE. I have NEVER seen it with a price listed other then FREE and never had it take me to the song/movie/video where it said anything other than FREE! This is probably a glitch with the new format. Notice everything else besides the music is FREE! Apple just needs to fix this!Mac Pro (early '08), Mac OS X (10.5.7), 3.2 GHz, 32 GB RAM, 4 TB HD

Yes, I know. Except when they are slow to update the download page.

Okay. I HAVE seen it numerous times with a price of FREE on the main iTunes FREE page but when going to the download page for that song, it is *NOT FREE*.
Others have posted asking why when they click on a FREE song, it does not show up as FREE.
The main page with the Free song is listed as free but the actual download page has not been updated. Usually both pages are changed within a very short time but occasionally, it takes longer.
This is probably a glitch with the new format.
It probably is but sometimes it's not as per my comments above.

Currently Being ModeratedJun 11, 2010 11:26 AM (in response to Chris CA)I've downloaded EVERY free on iTunes song since late '05 and I have NEVER seen any of them with a price other than FREE on them. Granted, I visit them only once but often it is within 24 hours of their inclusion as free. What music have you seen and when that wasn't listed as FREE?
That is actually a diversion from the issue. The issue is somehow this weeks were listed with a price. That was probably related to the redesign of the "Free on iTunes" page. It appears to be fixed today with 3 songs and a video, all ACTUALLY FREE!Mac Pro (early '08), Mac OS X (10.6.3), 3.2 GHz, 32 GB RAM, 4 TB HD
Currently Being ModeratedJun 11, 2010 2:52 PM (in response to Scott Herman)I don't recall which songs but it is within the first few hours of them being free (Tuesdays IIRC).
As noted, the issue I am referring to is that the Free page lists ongs but going to the actual download page they are not shown as Free. The page has not yet been updated to match though it gets updated usually within a few minutes.iMac G5 (Rev B) ALS - 2 GB RAM, Mac OS X (10.5.8), silver mini, blue mini, silver shuffle, iTunes 9.1.1 (12)
Did you notice that of the 3 new songs & 1 video now available as 'Free on iTunes' none of them are the two that were on the site yesterday?Mac Pro (early '08), Mac OS X (10.6.3), 3.2 GHz, 32 GB RAM, 4 TB HD
It is now working. At the time I posted this there were prices under the song, but the episodes, and apps were free. I bet it was a glitch. No problems now. Thanks for the help! :o)acer, Windows 7
The Free Music all has a price today. Didn't have a chance to check yesterday so I'm not sure if it was ever marked 'FREE'. Hope it changes at some point during the week.Dual 1.8 GHz PowerPC G5, Mac OS X (10.4.11), 3 GB DDR SDRAM
Currently Being ModeratedJun 16, 2010 8:12 AM (in response to lusciatti)Yes, I'm seeing the same thing - the only free song I could get to was from The Gaslight Anthem which had its own link on the store's front page. The rest of the "free" songs have a price.iMac 10.5 or WinXP SP3, Other OS, external hard drive, color U2 iPod, 1G shuffle, 2nd gen Nano
Currently Being ModeratedJun 16, 2010 11:43 AM (in response to lusciatti)I was able to find the Discovery Download by searching for it: type "Discovery Download" in the search bar, and filter the media type to music.
Same for the Latino single of the week, except I searched for "Cancion Semana".iMac 10.5 or WinXP SP3, Other OS, external hard drive, color U2 iPod, 1G shuffle, 2nd gen Nano
