usually a corrupted Safari application - either replace it with the right version from a backup, or re-apply the appropriate Safari update for your OS and Safari version -

Sep 19, 2010 1:30 PM in response to andyBall_ukby koesherbacon,How do you reinstall Safari? I downloaded the DMG and ran the PKG installer, but it said there was an error and it couldn't install.
Do I have to delete Safari first and then run the PKG? I don't want to try anything until I know exactly how to do it without bricking Safari forever! -
Sep 23, 2010 5:46 AM in response to Brodes83by Hydraman,Reinstalling Safari 5.02 did not work for me. Prior to reinstalling, I renamed the Safari folder in my home directory, deleted the application, and reinstalled v5.02 from Apple's site, and the exact same problem recurs.
I still have "LOCALIZED STRING NOT FOUND" all over (4 places) in the extensions panel in preferences, and the on/off switch is locked to the right.
Any other suggestions? -
Sep 25, 2010 10:53 AM in response to Hydramanby seanddunkin,i have the exact same problem as u
how did u fix it? -
Nov 10, 2010 10:13 AM in response to seanddunkinby l1nu5r,I had the same issue after installing Bitdefender 2011. BD 2011 had anti-phishging component which used SIMBL. Once I uninstalled BD, issue got fixed.
So check if you have any plugin/extension that depends on SIMBL.
