Hi,

Has anyone recently been having trouble with their Map App? The GPS function do not track me accurately... I could be 2 blocks away or 20 blocks away. It also does not smoothly track my position either, all over the map. Plus the range for the potential position is large as well. My area has great cell phone coverage, so GPS shouldn't be a problem.

Anyone else with this issue? Is there a fix to this?

I have also had this problem. the GPS used to work fine. it could track our car moving at 60 mph with surprisingly good accuracy. Then all of a sudden the GPS puts my location 4 blocks away and with a very large circle! I have tried multiple "solutions" such as turning on and off location service or 3G but nothing works. Do I need to send my Iphone to apple?

Mine became completely useless after the "upgrade' to ios4

my satnav app therefore also became useless, it was like 20 seconds behind me and still not locating where i was correctly. maps app the same - useless.

after 4 hrs managed to 'downgrade' and everything back to normal.

With iPhone OS 3.1.2 it used to work perfectly.
Now, iOS 4 broke my 3GS 32GB GPS.
    - It is really slow.
    - It is frozen most of the time.
    - It is frankly imprecise.
    Also:
    - It occurs in all apps that use localization services.
    - Compass is broken too. Constantly says you need to move in 8-shape.
    - TomTom crashes unexpectedly. Anyway, it is useless in this situation.
Hope Apple can solve this problem quickly.

I am having a similar issue with my 3GS.

The map app runs very slow, when loading my current location, trying to find a new address or getting directions between address. This happens on wifi or 3G network.

Also the map app has 'lost' it's accuracy to the location. Usually it is with in a 2 or 3 block radius, but on the old operating system it was much more accurate and quick.

I upgraded to iSO4 and had issues at first with the lost connection, and i got the error message to re-calibrate in a figure 8 motion. I re-synced last night to solve the 'fuzzy pictures' issue and now the map app is just slow.

Any one have a solution. Should I back up and restore. Advice???

Wonder if all the location issues have something to do with this: http://techcrunch.com/2010/07/29/apple-location/
