Jun 24, 2010 9:03 PM in response to feyeterby timis28,This the golden question for me too. I have tried everything that I can think of but the iPhone videos still get loaded as 320 in YouTube. Any help on how to upload a video to YouTube in 720p HD will be greatly appreciated. -
Jun 24, 2010 9:17 PM in response to feyeterby Driven Photography,I am going to guess it is on the YouTube side. It sees it as a Mobile device or Older phone limiting it to 320. They will need to update the servers for the new phone! -
Jun 25, 2010 9:33 AM in response to feyeterby tgoodridge,Hey guys- I have the ANSWER here! Trust me- it took the better half of the last 2 days to figure out, and I tried everything- even went to Apple Store and asked the guys there- they couldnt figure out why....Here's what you do...if you have the same programs.
You need to plug in iphone to your computer, then dowload into iphoto first- as a movie...
THEN you need to export to iMovie
THEN you need to upload it to you YouTube. It will give you an option to upload in HD- any other way simply doesn't work, and I've tried ALL of the following options as well- without success..
- Tried emailing the HD video to myself then uploading it to YouTube manually- it didn't show up in HD
- Tried uploading the HD video directly to Youtube via the iPhone4- didn't work
- Downloaded video into iMovie, optimized, but it wouldn't let me upload HD into Youtube.
- Even tried the iMovie app for the iPhone4, exporting it as an HD (720p) movie, putting in camera roll, THEN uploading to YouTube. Didn't work.
- Waited a day to see if it was just a processing delay for YouTube- no luck
- Tried doing all of these things in the Apple Store WITH two Apple guys right next to me- didn't work
- Also tried doing the same things with a different iPhone 4- didn't work.. -

I quickly CLOSE itunes, then open iPhoto- give it a minute or two. it should find it.. I hope.. -

Jun 25, 2010 9:59 AM in response to feyeterby One slippery dog,When using Iphone 4 you need iMovie app to work on video projects see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4174 and to upload the project see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4233. These documents should help, good luck -

Jun 25, 2010 10:22 AM in response to One slippery dogby Brendan03us,The uploading via the iPhone version of iMovie and the camera roll works fine, but not in 720. -
Jun 25, 2010 1:54 PM in response to feyeterby markfalta,Believe it or not, the shiny new iPhone 4 can't upload a HD video to YouTube, MobileMe, and nor can it be emailed. You must first sync the phone to your PC or Mac, than use something like iPhoto to pull the HD video from the device and than upload it from your PC or Mac. That seems like either a ridiculous oversight or Apple is bowing yet again to AT&T to keep the upload bandwidth as narrow as possible. -
Jun 26, 2010 8:56 PM in response to feyeterby zetaprime,I found a relatively simple way. Just plug phone into computer (Windows in my case), open iPhone in Windows explorer and navigate to the folder with all your pics/videos, drag and drop the video into the folder of your choice or the desktop. Then upload to Youtube from the computer. No need to sync or copy any files other than the one you want to upload.
