Updated to the latest version of iTunes for Mac a few days ago.

Now when I play music via my Airport Expres to my Stereo, the music keeps cutting out. When this happens, iTunes is still playing so I get annoying gaps in my music

I've been using iTunes for years and have found that often I get problems with my AirPort Express when they make a new version.

You may want to check the firmware version on your AirPort.
The current for the 'n' enabled is 7.4.2 and the older 'g' models are at 6.3.
I had a similar problem since the first AirPort Express, it seemed to go away after a firmware update.

    To check firmware version:
In your Utilities folder > AirPort Utility, highlight the AirPort Express and check the version.
    To check for updates:
AirPort Utility menu > Check For Updates...

If the unit is up to date or the update doesn't work please reply with the details on your WiFi network {i.e. how many access points, makes and models, wireless security mode (if enabled), if you're running a distributed (WDS) WiFi, etc} as those details may help narrow down the problem.

I am using 10.6.4 and iTunes 9.2. As far as I know my Airport Express has the latest firmware and streaming the music to my stereo periodically cuts out and it's very annoying. I have had years of success using my AE but I think an iTunes update screwed things up and I have no idea on how to remedy the problem. Been happening for about six or eight months now...
