Q: Where is my "Sent Mail" folder?

Not sure if this is a iPhone 4 thing or an iOS thing, but in Email, I can't find the sent mail folder, trash folder etc. Anyone have any idea if it's gone for good from the phone? I miss it!

MacBook, iPhone 4, iMac, iPad, iPod(s), Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Are these IMAP or POP3 or Exchange accounts?

Also when you say "won't update" do you mean when you send a message from the phone it doesn't save a copy in the folder or when you send a message from the computer at the website for the client it doesn't update on your iPhone?

I have a few. Yahoo and AOL. I had the ability to see sent, trash and personal folders on the last OS, but now with the new mail setup, all I (and apparently others) see, are the inboxes.

IMAP, I believe; and either way, it won't save a copy if I send it from my phone or my Mac.

*Actually, it's only those composed on my computer.

Regardless if I send an email from my Mac, iPhone or iPad, there is no longer the ability to see sent mail, trash or personal folders for any of my email accounts on the iPhone. I have those folders when on my Mac or iPad.

Go into your settings and check to make sure, if its IMAP it should be taking a copy with the server if it is POP3 then you would only see what the phone sends because POP3 doesn't sync sent mail/trash

Have you completely remove the mail account and set it up again? If that still fails have you tried to remove the mail accounts and then set it up manually using info from the provider?

In the Settings for Mail go to advance and tell me what the IMAP Path Prefix is.

When I purchased my new iPhone 4 and performed my first initial sync from my backup...all my settings transferred over to my new iPhone. I had to make some adjustments with my email settings...and at first the only folder to show up was my "inbox" folder...UNTIL I did a test email and sent it. That is when my "sent" folder appeared and then I deleted the email and that is when my "trash" folder appeared. Now my folders are there permanently.

Ever since the new software updated and provided the new combined email setup, those folders are gone. I set up the mail accounts fresh on my new iPhone 4. I had the ability tonsee these boxes on the previous software and on my 3GS.

Go back out or all Mailboxes so you can see all the inboxes for you phone, scroll up and you will see accounts underneath, all the sent received and trash folders are in there.
