Will it get better in time? Charged to 100% overnight last night. Now and 42% mid afternoon. Not really using it much. 3Gs was much better?

I don't get it?

I feel i'm in the same boat as you.

I charged it to 100% before going to bed. Mid-afternoon i'm at 42%.
Doesn't feel any better than my 3GS.

got it yesterday. battery was loosing & almost every few minutes even without use.

I had a 40 min call plus texting and email frequently and I am 58% battery left.
    I still was expecting more.

I have been told that it takes about 3 charges to really get the best life out of this device.

    WHO KNOWS its all theory!!

My battery life is awesome. The first charge lasted 30 hrs and I used it extensively.

I'm at 87% and I've been using it since 5am.

Try draining it and charging it a few times. Worked for me.

Mine has been incredible so far. After one full day since 12PM yesterady, I am at 70%. I used it last night to show it off to people by playing games. I also made some calls. Nice improvement over the 3GS.

I would discharge yours and then recharge.

I've had the most horrible battery life. It seems I am losing 4% per hour in standby mode with iPhone 3G and Wifi turned on. I set up the phone from scratch (not from a backup) and turned off bluetooth, location services and mail fetch (made it manual). Anything else I can do?

Don't forget, even though the battery is better, there is a faster processor and much more being utilized than in the old hardwares (iPhones).

I also have not seen the battery improvements. I had a 3G model before that had a much longer battery life when I first purchased it. I'm going through the battery refresh now. I'm on my second refresh as each full charge seems to last only 2 days even though I don't use it that much. Perhaps a less than 10 minute call each day and about ten 5-10 min checks of the web/e-mail.

That to me is just horrible. I don't have the antenna problem though. My bars stays solid no matter how I clutch the lower left. I've tried it all over the city too. Perhaps mine is putting more power through to the antenna which could explain why my battery drains so fast.

Oh well, I'll have to see if my battery improves once I do the recycle a few times.

HowardH have you tried resetting the network settings? Settings - general - reset - reset network settings (be sure not to hit any other command there).

This helped me for a day... am now still having battery drain even with most things off.
