Currently Being ModeratedJul 14, 2010 12:11 PM (in response to GatorGirlCC)Did you use the backup of your older iPhone (3g or 3GS) when you synced your new phone? This is what I would try.
1. Reset your settings: Settings>General>Reset>Rest All Settings. It will not delete your data but you will have to enter all your passwords again (voicemail, email addresses, etc...). Then check the camera and other apps.
2. Make sure all your apps are updated. Most apps should have come out with updates for 4.0. Do the updates in iTunes and sync the phone again.
3. Go into the App store, sign out and sign in again with your Apple ID (go the app store (the main Featured page), scroll down to where your account is displayed, click on it, sign out and then sign in again. Sometimes it's a rights management issue and it needs to re-establish a connection to your Apple account.
Lastly you can try to delete the offending apps and re-open the camera and see if it crashes. At least you can then find out if only one app is causing the issue. Finally, if all else fails, plug in the phone and restore it to factory settings. Then sync your apps and contacts, etc... manually (go into each tab and sync only the items you need like contacts, ringtones, apps, etc.).iPhone 4, iOS 4
