Q: Convert iPad Keynote to PPT

I did not see this posted yet and I googled, so if I missed something sorry.

Since the iPad version of Keynote only supports exporting PDF and Keynote files; is there a way to either save as a PowerPoint file OR have PowerPoint open a Keynote presentation?

I run PPT '07 on a Windows Vista computer so I don't have any access to other Apple products (hardware or software)

    Transfer the particular file back to your computer via iTunes sync. Open it in Keynote then choose Export from the File menu. Click on the PPT icon in the toolbar then follow instructions in drop down window.

    Thanks for the reply, but possibly you missed that I do not run any other Apple products.

    I do not have Keynote on any equipment other than the iPad. I use PowerPoint on a Vista machine.

    That's what I understood, but thought I would ask anyway.

    Of all the converters out there, it would be great if someone could come develop one for this too.

    Oh well. I'll do all editing in PPT and present on the road with the iPad

    Actually there is a fallback method is you are sufficiently desperate. You can export as PDF, divide into multiple images, and then paste each image into a separate Powerpoint slide. On the Mac I found scripts to automate this process; with a little hunting you I'm sure you could find similar scripts on a PC.

    Note that this is not a true conversion, just static images at the iPad's 1024x768 resolution. In some situations, though, this is a life-saver.

    Actually a much easier way that I think work is:
    1) Do a "screen dump" of every page you need by clicking the two main buttons on the iPad at the same time. Every screendump is saved in the Photos app as .jpg.
    2) Mail all the pictures to yourself.
    3) Save all the pictures and use the default Windows photo viewer to view the presentation. (No Powerpoint needed

    I love Apple but these workarounds suck. I have an iPhone, an iPad, two Macs and a Lenovo touchpad (PC) and I use Microsoft Office. They are going to force me to buy iWork or keep me from composing presentations on my iPad. Not a pretty choice and totally not appreciated.

    You can export the keynote presentation on the iPad in PowerPoint format and send it to your PC.

    I don't know, if this is new functionality implemented in Keynote since the original post and/or requires a current iOS.
