You have to wait till late next week to get your free case. Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones to get a bumper and maybe you won't. I went to the Apple store two days ago and they had tons of bumpers and no other cases to be seen. So maybe if you buy one now and try to apply for the refund (for those that bought a case) that would work. Or you can wait until late next week when they make the announcement that they are accepting orders for free cases for iPhone 4 owners and take your chances that way.

I agree vidguy7, what really seems strange to me is how many people are here that are 100% satisfied and have zero problems. If I had zero problems I wouldn't be wasting my time here reading about other peoples issues.

No problems with reception on the HTC. I think if you were using Windows it would be a very good phone. Batt isn't great but my make gripe is the screen, indoors it is comparable to the iPhone 4 but outdoors you can not see the screen. If my life depended on making a 999/911 call I would be dead as you can't see the screen!. Too me it's far more of a problem than the iPhone 4 because it is unusable outdoors. I admit I should have properly stuck with the iPhone 4 but I was having a lot of problems with emails, which I never had with my 3GS. I think Apple should have given some idea when OS 4.01 was expected and reassured everyone by saying that it was be within 30 days of purchase, as I had no idea of knowing when it would come I wanted a refund before my 30 days were up.

Can anyone shed some light on the problem I had with emails, phone would show as having received mail but when I went into my inbox nothing, whilst only sporadic the only way to resolve the problem was a reboot. I use MobileMe and never had these problems before & it was a tad annoying. Has OS 4.1 addressed this, I've read that it's affected others.

    Thanks.

Ah yes, a question I've asked many times! Why IS IT that these guys, who are 100% satisfied, spend so much time here? If I was truly satisfied with my phone, I'd be out and about enjoying my phone and getting some fresh air. Instead, many of these guys just can't wait to jump on each and every poster who has legitimate issues. Does make you wonder.

Good to hear on the reception side! The phone I'm waiting for, the Samsung Captivate (a Droid phone too), is one of the first phones to have a large OLED display. These are supposed to be the best in precisely the area you're talking about, outdoors in bright sunlight. It doesn't have quite the resolution of the I4 screen, but it makes up for it in color saturation, contrast and overall brightness. I'm really curious to see this puppy.

I couldn't agree more. I'm a little disappointed with all those here saying "just return it" "stop whining", etc.

I bought my iPhone 4 from the Apple store on release day. Sure I can take it back but what about the _18 month_ Vodafone contract?? They have a *14 day* NON NEGIOTABLE cancellation policy in the UK.

If I could I would return +the whole **** lot+ but I can't so please stop telling people who aren't happy that the iPhone 4 can't phone to "just take it back".
The simple truth is we're stuck with it. And no, I don't want to choose another phone instead otherwise I would have done that at the time. I chose the iPhone 4, it doesn't work properly and I can't take it back.

Dont get me wrong. I love my phone. I do recognize that the bars drops when touched on the sweet spot. Yet I never touch it, Im right handed and I seem to never touch that area. So im pretty fine with this phone. I just feel for others that to tend to touch that area and lose calls.

Bunk....Rubbish.....Pooey VidGuy and you know it. You've jumped all over anyone who said they were happy with their phone. Are you more "right?"

I'm happy with my phone. I haven't rubbed it in anyone's face, or called those who aren't childish names. I came to see what all the fuss was about and wound up sticking around. Some because the discussions (some totally childish) were interesting and some because I think the negativity was getting so out of hand that anyone reading these threads would believe that every single phone was a disaster.

One can conversely wonder why people who have bashed the phone to the 9th degree would stick around instead of just returning the thing and moving on......

The reason why people that have no problems are on these forums is to help people with problems. We volunteer to help people who might need help. This is a user to user technical forums. People come in here to ask for help. Other users who might of had the same problems that found a fix could help.

Biggerbyte, I specifically said that I don't doubt the 1% who have had a problem. But that 1% is a miniscule amount in the grand scheme--not to them surely, so that's why Apple is FIXING THE PROBLEM to the best of their ability. END OF STORY.

That's true but people comes in here not just for posting problems but "how to" help. When I first becamse an iphone user with the 3G, I didn't know a lot about the iphone. I did not had any problems with my 3G but I didn't know how to do certain tasks. People on these forusm came to my rescues. I am returning the favor to other people who are having problems or do not know how to do certain tasks.
