I just update IOS 4.0.1 software of my iphone 4. Doesn't see the issue have been fix yet ! I still having signal problem. Only two bar on my phone. I don't even hold the phone I just lets my phone sitting on the table. If I get the pumper case cover my phone the signal issue still won't fix. Won't give you full bar. I think apple very have to deal with this major problem.

I do NOT call people 'idiots' 'morons' etc. like you and others here Allan. It IS deplorable when people call you an IDIOT. I don't care if someone says 'just return it', but I DO care when someone says "Just return it you DOPE". Don't see a difference do you?

Don't EVER lump me in with your decadent group. I've got more class than that. And yes, it shocks the **** out of me that moderators allow posts like yours and others in which you constantly call people names, to not be deleted.

I don't mean any disrespect, but do you know what the update was all about? It was not to increase your signal. I repeat, it was not to increase your signal. In fact, it is likely you'll have less bars than you did before. It doesn't mean your signal is less. The update simply changed the algorithm Apple has been using to represent the signal. The bars you see are now truly representative of the signal you had to begin with. Does you phone work? Can you answer it if it rings? Can you make a call on it? If you answered yes, what difference does it make how many bars you see to begin with. So, if you're not touching your phone and you have two bars, that's all the signal that you have. Apple can't increase your signal, no matter what they do. And it's not reasonalble to suggest they need to fix this as it's a reflection of the signal broadcast from your carrier, which if you're in the US, is AT&T.

This is kind of what happened to me. I came here to learn and got fed up wading through cow dung spewed by a small group of disgruntled people who piped into every single thread they could with "the sky is falling" rhetoric.

It's why I've stayed around. And I still don't understand why, if they are so angry and disappointed, they don't just return the phone and get on with their lives. It's childish to even suggest happy campers work for Apple. What, is this Junior High Shcool?

Well golly rbrylawski, I'm so glad you haven't read any of those 'cow dung' posts written by your buddies here. Glad to see that all the name calling your crowd does isn't falling in to the category of 'cow dung'. It just seems to be the people with issues whose posts qualify as 'cow dung'.

Oh and it's also great to see when your crowd suggests one of us is a 'payed shill' that too doesn't qualify as 'Junior High School'. I doubt you'd see hypocrisy if you tripped over it.

Nothing surprises me anymore here. What a group, what an intolerant group.

That's just paranoia........I asked one of the guys at the Apple store if they are allowed to post on the forum. He told me if any Apple employee is caught posting on the user forum, they'd be fired. I really doubt anyone would want to risk their job and there's unlikely any conspiracy going on......

Oh, I wasn't talking about employees on here against Apple's wishes. Apple employees are obviously already controlling the forum by deleting unflattering threads. Why is it such a strech to imagine them involving themselves in the discussions?

    Baloney. You lie once again.

Would you like me to copy the name calling and labels you have done in this thread alone?

Don't see a difference do you?

I certainly do see a difference, but you are doing the VERY thing you are calling deplorable by others - the VERY thing. Do as I say but not as I do. Why don't you lead by example?

Don't EVER lump me in with your decadent group.

Another example of a lie. This is no different from name calling and you are one big lump in that group.

This isn't a forum for complaining. It to ask for help from other users like Allan who is willing to give his time to help with actual questions.

Is THAT what he's been doing? Wow, now I understand. I never realized that being called names was part of assistance. He's so giving and I'm SO grateful.

Ok, I loved my 3GS, no problems.. I have had my IPhone4 for about 2 weeks. Noticed the performance of this phone has been the pits. Got a rubber bumper last night at the mall. Much to my dismay...lots of cursing at IPhone4 today....not only dropping almost all my calls, my cheek is setting off the touchpad and doing all kinds of stuff, and my phone rarely rings....almost all my calls went to voicemail today without a sound. Did I get the wrong bumper for it? Do I have a defective phone? Planning to go to the AT&T store tomorrow....any advice?

Oh now you've gone and done it. What name would YOU like to be called...they've got plenty lined up for you.

You said you spoke with someone at the Apple store. You didn't say anything about speaking to anyone their PR department or anyone else in the company.

But, as expected, you TOTALLY miss the point. It's not how MUCH greater the percentage is, it's that it IS GREATER than the 3GS.

I HAVEN'T missed squat, hide behind an alias boy.

You don't seem to be capable of grasping that.

I can run circles around your DA with half my brain tied behind my back.

Allan, you and your ilk are an extremely intolerant group that desperately needs to brush up on their manners. I sure hope you don't act like this in your business dealings.

I'm intolerant of total dips, and you are one to talk about manners. Do as I say, but not as I do. You should practice what you preach.

Wow Allan, you've outdone yourself. You are one very classy guy. You've said so much with so few words.

Hey guys, can I add "dip" to the list of pleasant names the Kool-Aid drinkers spew forth? What a bunch.

Don't you know yet that you can't come here with your problems. You have to leave now or Allan will call you names.

Hey Allan, do you mind if I enroll you in an etiquette course or would I be a ---@#$_@$#$ for doing that?

Dan....you yourself said you were so vocal, because you were looking for solutions. I got that. What I don't get is why you're still being so vocal. No one here can give you solutions. Apple can't seem to give you the solutions you seek. The press conference is over. You can have a bumper, case or refund. That's it. There isn't anything else. So, this discussion which has gone viral, is really pointless isn't it? People are screaming at each other over what Steve said the statistical drop of calls is on the phone. What differene does it make? Is it going to make it better if you're right? Is it better if someone else is right? If your phone doesn't meet your expectations today. It likely won't a week from today, or a month from today. For you and most others who are unhappy, there are no solutions. So again, this debate is pointless.......

Now, I don't disagree with your assertion (except they're not my buddies as I don't know a single person here personally) that the happy camp has been just as viral. Nobody should be rude or call anyone names.

Again, this discussion is absolutely, utterly, 100% pointless. Those who are unhappy got their answer today and it's not going to change tomorrow.

OK...enough sparring for the night. I'm on the east coast and I believe you're on the west. I'm going to bed. The rest of you can talk amongst yourselves and continue this pointless debate till the "cows" come home......

And a good night to you all........

Of course the other side of that equation is that other phones on the SAME carrier may well be able to make the call. It seems that CNET has already concluded that the new Samsung Captivate has better reception than the Iphone 4 which they still listed as a weak point.

So, it seems that some phones in weak areas CAN get out when others can't. Just saying.

You should practice what you preach and lead by example. You are the last one to talk about class.

I don't hide behind an alias.

Since these discussions are so "deplorable" to you... sniff, sniff, why do you continue?
