No problems... Make sure you check your new phone thoroughly before you walk away from the Genius Bar. Best of luck!

My god, people will use any excuse to return their iphone 4.

Will Steve have to hold a press conference over this as well?

Funny isn't it! I'm no designer but if I made a rubber and plastic case for an iPhone I wouldn't have used exposed sharp plastic on the inside part that touches the iPhone.

I have a bumper and just checked my iPhone. No wear marks or scratches but I tend to use my iFrogz case more then the bumper anyway. I did think the design of the bumper was a little questionable. Too many hard bits.

Apple replaced the handset and admitted the inside of the bumper was very sharp inside. They gave me a new iPhone 4 and new Bumper.

I will be using an iPod sock until the official Sena case is released next week as I don't want to risk scratching the new one..

Guess what though the new handset has a very rubbery click with the sleep button! Not the nice solid usual click. Oh well beggers can't be choosers!!!

I sympathize with you. I am anal about my iphone 4g too. I didn't get a case and dropped it onto the pavement sustaining a nasty chunk out of the glass and minor scrapes on the stainless steel.

Now I guess I am stuck with the damage.....

I dropped my phone on the concrete and it got 4 knicks in the metal band...I'd say that stuff isn't 4x as strong as regular SS.

I was on the phone with apple care specialist and told her that I was hearing reports of this happening. And told her that if my steel housing would get scratched form using and iphone bumper that they well replace your handset with a new one. So guys don't worry about use the phone enjoy it, and if you happen to get scratches on the metal band just take it back to apple for a new phone. Hope this relieves some of your worries.

So I take my bumper off then lo and behold, I have a scratch/mark on top between the jack and sleep button. I examine the bumper and found a dark dot with a sharp point exactly matching the position of the scratch mark. It's hard and definitely not plastic. I have the blue bumper and so this spot is very obviously there. I tried to buff it down and it won't come off.

Here's my dilemma. I haven't had any problems with my iP4 and I'm worried that if I exchange it for a new one, my luck might run out and get one of the problematic ones. Aaaah! What to do? Do they give you a brand new replacement?

Let me get this straight. The bumper scratched the stainless steel around the phone. You notice it when you remove the bumper. However, you will always keep the bumper or case on it to protect it, so, in essence, you wont see the scratch. Hmm. Not sure I understand the problem.

And for heaven's sake, it's not the frickin Hope diamond. It's a PHONE!!!!!
