Currently Being ModeratedJul 17, 2010 12:19 PM (in response to defkonmusic)Well, I just downloaded iOS 4.0.1 and tried syncing my contacts again. Nothing! Same results. C'mon Apple this can't be that hard to get right can it? When the AT&T network and overall phone quality are as poor as they are compared to Verizon and other devices I expect you to get the little things like syncing 100% right all the time. At least that is something that is within your control.iOS 4
Currently Being ModeratedJul 17, 2010 2:34 PM (in response to carlosrr)So I have an old iphone that I use for music in my car. I synced all up to date contacts with itunes, then I synced my numbers AND names to the vtech. All good. put the iphone back in my car. Then I paired the new iphone 4 with the vtech and it connected. It still doesn't transfer names, but it connects and I use it at home, because of signal issues, like I did before. Names and contacts from old iphone. Connection from new iphone. Its not pretty, its a work around until the address the bluetooth sync issue in a new OS, hopefully.imac 2.8 intel core 2 duo, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Currently Being ModeratedJul 19, 2010 9:04 AM (in response to defkonmusic)Add me to the list of having Bluetooth contact transfer issues now with iOS4. Apple needs to work this stuff out!Windows, iOS 4
Currently Being ModeratedJul 21, 2010 9:17 AM (in response to defkonmusic)Me too!! I have a 3GS running iOS 4.0.1, and just purchased the VTech DS6321-3. I synced my numbers, but they have no names. I called VTech and they said they were working on some sort of update and that I would just have to keep checking their website. I asked them how that would work (since you can't download firmware for the VTech phone), and they said it would most likely be something that could be done by resetting the base system myself. However, that particular customer service rep didn't seem to know what she was talking about (she thought it was possible downgrade to the previous iOS -- which it isn't). I think I just have to return the VTech phone. Bummer.
And just for the record, I would like to say that upgrading to iOS 4 has been such a headache. There are so many things that I miss from the old iOS...Mac Pro Quad-Core, Mac OS X (10.5.7)

Currently Being ModeratedJul 29, 2010 8:38 AM (in response to defkonmusic)Same problem...OS4 has eliminated me from being able to access my contacts from my house VTech phone (which I was previously able to do with OS3x)
I rely on the VTech to route my iphone calls because AT&T ***** in my house (middle of Los Angeles)iPhone, iOS 4
Currently Being ModeratedJul 30, 2010 7:56 AM (in response to defkonmusic)I have taken delivery of a 3Gs and it wont sync the contacts across to the factory fitted hands free kit in my Renault Scenic. On the former OS3 it worked properly without any problem. All I can do now is receive calls as I have to pick up the phone to dial. I even borrowed a 3g and after it automatically upgraded the software to OS4 it did the same. Thanks to everyone for posting this discussion and I now know its not the fault of the kit in the car. Apple should quickly sort this out as its rendered a very expensive piece of equipment in my car almost useless.I Phone
Currently Being ModeratedAug 3, 2010 12:39 PM (in response to defkonmusic)I just wanted to be added to the mix as well. After reading the many posts already, I was hoping to find a "FIXED" at the end, but sad to say nope. I have an iPhone 4 and just purchased the VTech 6321, and was sad to see it only imported Numbers and not names. I mistakenly contact VTech, when after seeing these posts its APPLE's fault, not VTechs.
This, antennae gate, the "don't hold it that way" comment, then the "free bumper fix", and then come to find out I can't even use my old chargers with the iPhone 4 in the bumper, Apple is going downhill.....SAD
I HOPE they fix this soon.Dell E1705, Windows 7
Currently Being ModeratedAug 9, 2010 12:44 PM (in response to defkonmusic)I have the same behavior with my iPhone 4 AND with my iPhone 3G, both on iOS 4.0.1. My VTech DS6322-3 used to function perfectly, but now the iPhone connects intermittently and contacts on cordless phone shows numbers with no names.
The 2011 BMW iDrive seems to work with my iPhone 4 so far, but when having an active call before getting in and starting the car people will often complain that they can barely hear me. Compared to my previous 07 335i, the call switches to iDrive about 30 seconds faster. I can no longer control the Bluetooth Hands Free Volume level by using the iPhone's side buttons during a call when BT HF is active.
I guess there was a reason why I kept my iPhone 2G, so for now I'll restore my contacts on VTech from there.

Currently Being ModeratedAug 23, 2010 7:46 PM (in response to defkonmusic)No luck with iOS 4.0.2. Somehow I am not very optimistic Apple would do anything to resolve thisiOS 4
Currently Being ModeratedAug 29, 2010 3:02 AM (in response to defkonmusic)I'd like to chime in with: ARGH.
I'm having this problem as well. Pre iOS 4 contacts syncing with VTECH bluetooth phone was and is fine. With iOS 4 I can only sync numbers and not names... which is remarkably unhelpful for both dialing and receiving calls. I can sort of work around the dialing out problem, but I never know who is calling me.
I suppose this is way down the priority list for Apple, but I'd be surprised if it were that HARD a thing to fix. Honestly, I'd feel better if someone would just say that it's a known issue and will be addressed before 5.0.every iPhone ever, iOS 4
Currently Being ModeratedSep 8, 2010 10:40 AM (in response to defkonmusic)Is this issue fixed in iOS 4.1? Release notes list Bluetooth fixes. I'm looking to buy the Vtech phone.iPhone 4, iOS 4
