I just want to make my voice heard

    You have, extensively.

The Jive software works as intended.

The Hosts have chosen to make the forums secure.

There really is nothing more to add.

My experience with Firefox 3.6.8 under Mac OS 10.5.8 on a G5 PPC iMac:

If you are logged in to AD you don't need to login several hours later?

    Yes.

Is this true even if you have closed all Firefox windows (but not the application)?

    Yes.

Is this true even if you have closed Firefox?
Is this true even if you have restarted your computer?

    No and No.

Or is it only true if you have not closed the tab that AD resides on?

    No.

Yesterday I closed ALL windows/tabs but left FF 3.6.8 running. This morning, I was STILL logged into AD.

Safari SHOULD work the same way, but for some reason doesn't always. It seems that the problem may be directly related to Snow Leopard or Intel Macs.

As Klaus1 has said you have definitely been heard by the regular posters in this forum.

The Hosts (Have a purple Apple instead of Avatar) work for Apple.
They tend not to post in the Forums as a whole but this forum (Discussion Feedback) is one where you may see them more often.

Posters that work for Apple that want to contribute here get Silver Apple icons.
They post outside of their regular work but post as do the rest of us as "Experts" by use of particular apps and Mac Models.

AS this issue seems to be for one browser and not another and in some cases that same Browser in a particular OS version then the issue is not a Discussion Feedback issue per se.
The Safari forums are the most likely place to get the most current info from people who try everything with Safari to get it to work as they think it should.

They will also be able to confirm, as Barbara Daniels, suggested that some things cannot be changed.

+With that said; Is anyone of you employed by AD?+

No, I am not. I am simply a Mac user and volunteer to help when I can.

    +Where can I get my voice heard?+

This is a user to user forum - you can get your voice heard here:
