I have read that the new blueant Q2 which was released only last week to the public has been working with no muffled sound so I purchased it and have been using so far for 48 hours without anyone telling me I sound muffled. I have had the same issues with all the other headsets Jawbone Icon, Motorola h17 & h9, Plantronics 975 with this same Iphone4 that I am using now. Again I will keep everyone posted to see if this Blueant Q2 still keeps working perfect this is the longest that I have had success with any Bluetooth yet. Please don't go out and purchase the Q2 until I use it another 5 or 6 days so we are positive of the results.

No disrespect but I am not going to purchase another bluetooth headset--period. This is not the bluetooth headset manufacturers' problem. This is an Apple problem and they need to be the ones to address it...

Just wanted to add my experience. I have a Plantronics Voyager Pro that worked fine with my G3 iPhone but does not with the iPhone 4. Same situation as with others posted here, I can hear who I call but they can't hear me. If it does work it is intermittent at best.

I called Apple and while the gentleman was nice, he blamed things on the headset and said Apple did their best to test but could not get all hardware done in the testing. He didn't tell me that the Plantronics device was or was not tested but did tell me that what was sold at the Apple store online was tested with the iPhone. Apple better check the what they list or the tech support should because there was my headset, the Plantronics Voyager Pro, the one that doesn't work, for sale. Other than that there was *no solution*, no suggestion to trade in the phone, nothing.

Please Apple get a clue, you are killing those of us that are trying to support you and purchase your products.

Actually I have purchased my Blueant Q2 from the AT&T store which has a 30 day money back return policy so let's say I'm renting it and buying time hoping that APPLE WILL FIX THIS IN THEIR NEXT UPDATE because I must have a Bluetooth headset at all times in my line of work. I refuse to go backwards using a wired headset when driving. So you have nothing to lose and plenty to gain so far this Q2 is working perfect remember this headset was released only a week ago so possibly the firmware in it is making it compatible. Don't feel bad about returning it to AT&T remember they are not admitting to this Bluetooth issue either they look at you like your crazy when you ask them about this problem.

I also just purchased a Blueant Q2 from AT&T today and explained to the sales associate the problem I have been having with all of my other Bluetooth headsets and the iPhone 4. She admitted never having heard about the problem. I must say that Apple and AT&T must be telling all of their sales associates to deny having heard of this or any problem whenever a customer comes in and inquires about it. This must be their way of doing PR damage control. Having said all of that, the Q2 has performed flawlessly so far. I will report back in a day or so to let everyone know whether the problem appears.

Good news about the BlueAnt Q2. Keep us posted on if the problem returns!

For those of you still having problems, PLEASE, PLEASE call Apple and complain about this issue. How can every support rep claim they've never heard of the problem? Apple needs to know that this is affecting more than a couple of people or it's going to be a low priority issue for them!

after 2 weeks of informal experiments I think I have narrowed my problem down to trying to transfer calls to the BT AFTER I've already answered them. like a lot of other folks here I'm not experiencing the issue if my BT is already connected.
knowing how to get around the problem is good but Apple still needs to get this fixed!

    running a Motorola H17, btw.

I have an issue using the BlueAntQ1. This only happened after updating to the new 4.0.1 iOS. FIX IT APPLE!

I can say that I have this problem 95% of the time when I am answering calls with my bluetooth, and hardly ever otherwise. I always have to call people back in order for them to be able to understand me.

And this is 100% an OS/handset problem. Come on - bluetooth has had a standard interface for YEARS. There is NO way anyone should have to buy a new bluetooth headset to have their iPhone 4 work correctly.

Well I'm doing what one other gent posted: I got the BlueAnt Q2 and will return it within 30 days to ATT if that is all I can do while hoping they fix the problem at Apple. As far as the Q2 is concerned, I am having NO Problems with it at all! It seems to be fine on range, incoming or outgoing calls and it stores my whole phone book so as to announce the name (if it's in my phone book) of incoming caller. Also it does Not drop off and on as did my Plantronics Pro. The voice quality for me is about as good both to me and caller as the Plantrronics was. Voice commands seem to work fine. I will report back if it has any problems. I'm wondering what on earth would be different about this bluetooth unit compared to all the others?

I have had the same problems with my Jawbone 2, but it is totally intermittent. Talked to both Apple and Jawbone. Apple tech said they were aware of it but did not have the solution. Jawbone had me do a reset.

Lately, have only had occasional muffle complaints. Because some users have the problems and other do not with the same BT headsets and OS 4.0.1, I was thinking that this might be some sort of conflict with Apps on a person's phone [where some users have the problemed App and others don't]

Can't say what the problem is, but it is sometimes (but not always) corrected by switching from Jawbone to iPhone and then back to the Jawbone

A day after purchasing the Blueant Q2 it is still functioning properly with no complaints of audio problems on either side. Perhaps it is the Bluetooth software in the Q2 that allows it to function properly. Let's all look on the bright side. Apple may just be creating an entire new line of accessories that are "iPhone 4 Certified". Think of the endless profits for manufacturers of said devices. All we need is a reminder that pops up on our phones whenever we try to use a device that is not. It should read something like this. "This device is not iPhone 4 compatible".
