Yes I do have the same thing! Reboots for no reason. My iPhone 3GS, 32GB have started to reboot during some longer phone calls. It was perfect before the iOS4 update. After the update to 4.0 and now 4.01 i has done this maybe 20-25 times!! *@#$$ Very irritating and hope Apple issues an update to take care of this problem!

ok progress being made...i have posted here before about my 3Gs cutting out and rebooting since ios4 upgrade..but i have found the my house there is one room it never cuts out..i found this out by accident as i never usually use the phone there..the difference between this room and all the others is it shows 4 bars of reception...all the other rooms show two it is something to do with having to work too hard in low reception which causes it perhaps to overheat and cut out...I must say of course before the upgrade the phone worked in every room!

After reading a previous comment about switching off 3G I thought I would give it a go (I will try almost anything now!) I now have almost a full signal where before with 3G on only one or two bars would be showing. When I turn 3G back on the signal drops quick and even got the 'no signal' message.
I visited the local Apple store and was told to try a full restore to a 'new phone' setting and this should work - when I asked what do I do next if it does not, well lets just say the chap gave me a blank / expressionless look!
    lets see what happens.

Same problem here. Boots after few minutes on incoming or outgoing calls. Never tried jailbreaking. One method to keep talking is to tap the calendar a few times while speaking - but its really frustrating..

Same here, iPhone 4, Norway. Drops in almost every call, especially when my phone is kept between shoulder and face. I suspect the proximity sensor not working properly? Since it suddenly comes on loudspeaker, facetime, end call etc. Did not have that problem with iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.0.1.

And I´m not touching the antennagate-area. No fingers on the phone..

I bought my iPhone 3GS a few months ago. I have upgraded till iOS4. Ever since my mobile life has been a disaster. The phone i shutting down during conversations, as well as loosing connection to operator`s net up to twice a minute. I can`t accept this. iPhone - never again!!

Now, I luckely haven't experienced that my phone reboots during a call, but I have had my phone reboot while performing other tasks on my phone. During writing an SMS or switching between apps and during other circumstances. Sometimes the phone hangs and doesn't respond to the touch or any of the buttons either. If I wait a while (20 sec. or more) it sometimes get back to being responsive and I can continue using it. While other times I just have to wait till it just reboots by itself.

It has happened to me quite often now since I upgraded to iOS4! Never had any problems running on iOS3.x. I really hope Apple can fix all the bugs in the upcoming iOS 4.1. I chose to buy the iPhone due to the fact that it just works. I sadly can't say the same anymore now that iOS4 is installed on it. :-/

Just adding my name to the growing list. IPhone 3GS 32g. Random reboots in the middle of phone calls usually after around 5 minutes. Doesn't happene in every call but when someone rings I spend most of the time explaining that my phone will probaby reboot. Needless to say the problem is getting very annoying.

While getting no help or any kind of support from apple I looked around and found this helpful little site:

Going back to 3.1.3. now, hoping that I'll be able to make freaking calls with my phone again. Sc**w Apple ...
3GS, iOS 4, Firmware 3.1.3. You can make calls. Again.

Please... if you are having a problem fill in the feedback form and list it as a BUG:

From everything I've read, Apple say they are unaware of the problem (and they've made no press release or official statement saying they are looking into the reboot problem).

I've sent a few of these in, but I think it needs everyone to complete one that is having problems - maybe then they will look into it.

May be a worth also including a link to this topic when completing the feedback.

I had no problems pre-ios4, but my phone reboots during calls also

I have the same problem. I upgraded to IOS4 on my iPhone 3GS about a month ago. Since then I have had this problem 3 times. Every time the phone freezes during a conversation, and it is approximately after 5 minutes. It does not reboot. It only freezes with the white apple logo in the middle. I have to reset the phone to get it online again. Quite frustrating. I hope Apple will provide us with a solution on this soon.
