Q: powerbook g4 help!!

ok so i have a powerbook g4 17 inch and i have had it since 2004, the screen on my laptop doesn't work so i have it going to a tv screen and that is my monitor, so here is the question i need to use the install dvd's to fix what is wrong with the computer and i would like to know if i do this am i going to be able to still see it on my tv screen or is that not going to work????? p.s how much would it be to get the screen fixed???

powerbook g4, Mac OS X (10.3.x), 10.3.4 system 17inch

    There's no harm in trying it, but I think you will find that when you've booted to an OS installer DVD, the external monitor won't be supported at all — nothing will appear on it.

    Take the computer to an Apple Store or authorized service provider and ask for a repair estimate. We can't give you one here; we're just other PB users.
