Currently Being ModeratedAug 25, 2010 4:41 AM (in response to b leo)There is a white patch supplied by an apple store to an svga cable which is double screwed to the patch and the viera. This has been tested with the winTosh (Windows Toshiba "pad" of advanced age.)
The patch is inserted into a square port on the body of the Macbook.Macbook, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Worked forever until I disconnected and reconnected. I have reset the PRAM swapped cables and tested the monitor.Mini - MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.4)
Currently Being ModeratedOct 15, 2010 1:18 AM (in response to chess24)I just got a new 1440x900 15" MBP, bumped to 10.6.4, etc. before using it. It could not detect display with "Detect Displays" or even by re-booting.
I managed to snag race timing by putting it to sleep and then waking it up when my monitor was ready.
Now have 1400x900 on my 1400x1050 display with Mirror Displays.
These racy things are a bit nasty. I hope they fix it properly and permanently by addressing such bugs with policy.POWER, Other OS, Debian GNU/Linux

Have always had automatic graphics switching in energy saver.
Dual displays may have a big impact on battery life. Keep it plugged in.
Turning graphics switching off (which turns Nvidia on) may work too, but remeber to set it back for battery.POWER, Other OS, Debian GNU/Linux
