Ok, I'm going to be a complete nerd and ask...

When he says "next week," does that mean sometime between Sun-Sat or Mon-Fri?

I haven't been as affected by the Prox. sensor issue but I am looking forward to Bluetooth fixes and the game center.

Hi guys I am new to this so please bear with me. I am on my third IP4 in three weeks suffering from poor bluetooth reception in the car, major prox sensor issues, all three fones have been practically unusable, and very poor signal strength. All fones have been on 4.0.2. Do you think 4.1 will solve these problems or should I switch to an Android powered fone, while I still have my network supplier on-side, till this is sorted out ?

Perhaps they would work if they would not be called "fones".....

Allan already covered the iTunes aspect. If it cut into iTunes, the Nano would not have FM.

I can see the whining that would ensue if Apple enabled FM radio on the iPhone. It would go something like, I want to listen to radio through the speaker and I can't tune my favorite station in. Or another whine would be, how come my aftermarket headphones don't work as an antenna. Or how come my car antenna doesn't work to tune in my favorite station on my phone.

Typical Apple/Jobs. IOS4.1 is ready today, but you will have to wait for it for another week. All part of Apple's marketing hype.

If you are going to announce something then make it available that day, or wait until it is to announce it. Again, just more Apple marketing hype.

It doesn't seem to have much new to be amazed about, and it looks like the hoped for fixes will be the best part of it, IF it fixes all these issues which of course nobody knows if it will or not because Apple doesn't tell you what it fixes.

Will just have to wait and see.

How do you know it is ready today? Just because they demoed parts of a version?

They are also releasing iTunes 10 sometime today, do you really want them releasing everything at once? Or were you just waiting for the chance to complain about the slow download speed?

So Apple is no using "marketing hype" for a free download? Why? Will they make more $0 next week than the $0 they would make today?

Not sure it was supposed to be anything to be "amazed" about, although the HDR photos look good. And they said it will fix issues with the proximity sensor, Bluetooth, and the 3G problems.

So what were you expecting to be amazed about? It isn't iOS 5.

Cool guys, is anyone having similar connectivity issues with Vodafone Australia on the iPHONE 4 handset where the loading of web pages etc using 3G is very slow? I wonder if the 4.1 with fix these issues. Logging onto web sites like ebay, using the ebay app, linked in app and general site loading from Safari is very slow.

In addition I have found that the battery life on the iPHONE 4 is not as good as advertised. Really in comparion to 3GS it is not that much better.

Congratulations, not only can you read numbers, but you've taken an interest in my iPhone ownership situation. Thanks. I know nothing about you though, which is probably a good thing

Why don't they enable the FM capabilities on the Broadcom BCM4329 chip? Surely an iOS update can do this?

No FM antenna capability in the hardware, among other things. Forget about FM in iPhones.
