Q: What external DVD readers/writers will work on Prismo firewire and OSX 10.4

Hello all,

I was looking at a lot of threads regarding my issue that I posted on IDVD5 and iMovieHD forums so I won't duplicate that post here.

Question: In order for me to use an external DVD+RW (LaCie) on my Prismo, do I need to use Toast to access it as it appears that the Apple aps will only recognise an internal bay mounted DVR+RW??

The drive shows up in the System Profiler, but I get several different error messages based on what app I open to try to burn a DVD.

iDVD5 shows
"The application iDVD could not be opened because the required hardware could not be found"

iMovieHD shows two different errors:
"The movie could not be sent to iDVD, because of an unknown error.
Please make sure that iDVD is properly installed, that your project disk has write permission, and that you have enough disk space. (Error 0)"

and

"No Disc Burning Drive Found
If you have an apple-supported disc burner, please check your connections and try again."

I tried DVD Player and got this message:
"There was an initialization error. A valid DVD drive could not be found (-70012)

Thanks you all in advance for your help and any suggestions. John
