Another friend suggested it is the Video card as he has an identical machine and his machine did the same thing but then just stopped booting one day and found it was the video card by swopping it out a few components with a spare Mac Pro.
How on earth can I find out for sure, I have runt he hardware test but nothing..8 Core Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4)
Currently Being ModeratedSep 22, 2010 5:50 PM (in response to boomish)Mine did something similar a while back. Try a fresh OS install (on an extra hd) that's updated along with pram/scm reset. That's what did the trick for mine.Mac Pro Quad-Core Intel Xeon, Mac OS X (10.6.4), 10GBRam many HD's
