I'm using a MobileMe account (IMAP), and yes, when I do what you said there's a folder by the name Junk listed. What can I do?iMac7,1, Mac OS X (10.6.4), Intel Core 2 Duo 2,4 GHz
Currently Being ModeratedSep 24, 2010 8:31 AM (in response to GentleLady)MobileMe has server-side spam filtering. MobileMe creates a Junk mailbox on the server. Spam filtered by the server goes to the on-the-server Junk mailbox. Spam that gets past that and is filtered by Mail goes to the 'On My Mac' Junk mailbox.
Currently Being ModeratedOct 9, 2010 6:19 PM (in response to GentleLady)I have the exact same problem.
Some true junk mail ends up in that second junk mail folder (just a standard folder named "junk" in the Mobileme section), but also some regular, legitimate mail as well.
I've tried deleting it but it is recreated automatically by Mobileme.
I also see two junk mail folders in the Mobileme section on my iPhone's Mail app. One is just named "Junk". The other one is named "Junk" + my account name in parenthesis.
Annoying. I have to make sure that no legitimate mail gets overlooked by ending up in this other junk mail folder.

Currently Being ModeratedNov 2, 2010 12:52 AM (in response to GentleLady)Not working for me. There is no such option in context menu of my Inbox. And there is also a folder Deleted Messages behaving just like Junk folder. Why not using correct folders of Mail.app instead of creating folders under MOBILEME section?Mac Mini, Mac OS X (10.6.4)
Currently Being ModeratedNov 2, 2010 3:43 AM (in response to Remediator)It's not in the contextual menu. It's in the menu.1.8 SP G5/iMac G4 FP/MBP 2.33/iPhone, Mac OS X (10.6.4)
