When I click on a pdf file, safari opens a new tab, then launches acrobat and open the pdf in acrobat.

I NEED to be able to view the PDF's in safari.

I'm at my wits end on this, can anyone help?

THanks

/Library/Internet Plug-ins/ and delete the AdobePDFViewer.plugin. Quit Safari and relaunch. That should do the trick.

    Hi John,

    Quit Safari.

Try this. Find a PDF file you already have on the hard drive, then right or control click the file then click Get Info. In the Get Info window click the pop up menu next to: Open with. Choose Preview.

    Relaunch Safari.

No dice here... My system already defaults to "open using Preview" and any PDF I select from a webpage can only be downloaded... I'd like to have a PDF open in a new window in Safari, and allow me to MANUALLY decide whether to save it or not... As it is I have too much PDF clutter in my downloads folder!
