Oct 9, 2010 12:11 PM in response to anneravenby LidsvilleBrown,★HelpfulLet me guess - only voice memos recorded before July show up? I have the same problem - no new memos can be detected by iTunes. They are visible and playable on the iPhone, but there's no way of syncing them, even though all earlier memos sync fine (and sync repeatedly, so that I have the annoyance of lots of duplicate memos when I sync). -
Oct 9, 2010 1:08 PM in response to anneravenby Allan Sampson,When "Include voice memos" is selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, an iTunes playlist should be created automatically below Playlists in the iTunes source list named Voice Memos where the voice memos should be available to select and listen with iTunes. -
Nov 12, 2010 10:27 AM in response to Allan Sampsonby martynm,Thanks, Allan. Is there any way of manually syncing Voice Memos? I manage my music manually and don't want to replace everything on my phone with iTunes content. I just want my Voice Memos into iTunes. -

Nov 25, 2010 8:47 AM in response to greatdanejesby Greg Thatcher,Same Here. I've got Box Checked and A voice Memo Playlist that contains several memo's already in it, but since the last OS update I can't see any of the new memo's on my phone in iTunes. -
Nov 25, 2010 11:05 AM in response to anneravenby ethanbee,Ditto. Can't get new voice memos to show up in iTunes since the iPhone 4.2.1 update (either in iTunes' list of voice memos on my phone, or in the iTunes mac-side Voice Memos playlist). It's there on the phone, just can't sync it. Reduced to emailing to myself in 8 min chunks. -

Jan 5, 2011 2:33 AM in response to gwyncoleby MatthijsB,I have the same issue. When I looked on the iPhone itself using a tool called iphonedisk I noticed the recording that does not sync has two files: one .m4a and one .mov file. I've learned that when you record the iPhone first creates a .mov file and when the recording is done, it converts the file to a .m4a file. I believe when this converting process is not properly done, both files remain on the iPhone and iTunes does not sync the voice memo. The .mov file still holds the recording and is playable with quicktime, but the .m4a file is not playable.
My solution is to use the tool (or any other tool that allows you to browse the iPhone) and manually transfer the .mov file for backup to your mac.
Hope this will help. -
Jan 30, 2011 11:52 AM in response to anneravenby vukodlak75,I have the same problem as all you. I went ahead and unchecked "include voice memos. Then synced the iphone. all my voice memos showed up and synced, weird, really weird. -
Jan 30, 2011 11:56 AM in response to vukodlak75by vukodlak75,I now went ahead and re checked it and will find out later today if it syncs new memos. -
Feb 1, 2011 7:14 AM in response to anneravenby Crazy Canuk,Just purchased Mac i3 and voice memos won't sync to it from iphone 3GS. The problem is, even though "include voice memos" is checked in itunes, it won't set up a Voice Memos Playlist." Have tried unchecking as one entry suggested but nothing works. Everything else syncs fine BUT, the most important thing for me is that Voice Memos sync. Golly, don't really want to buy a voice recorder to make voice memos, I though this was a function for iphone. Yeah, they record fine, but won't sync. -
Feb 13, 2011 9:43 AM in response to anneravenby Sagal,★HelpfulI have tried every solution listed in this topic - unfortunately none of them worked I have a 46 minute voice memo of an interview which I needed to transfer to my computer. In the end, I found this software, PhoneView, which offers a free 7-day trial (no credit card needed or anything) and lets you transfer up to 10 voice memos. There doesn't seem to be a size limit because my 46min voice memo (20MB in size) transferred instantly. http://downloads.ecamm.com/PhoneView.zip
Not really a long term solution, but if, like me, you are desperate to get one big file to your Mac quickly, then this is perfect. -
Mar 16, 2011 10:31 PM in response to Sagalby the_lemminguk,Ever since I migrated to latest iTunes I can no longer sync my voice memos as well. I tried to uncheck+sync and then check the box+sync but no joy.
I even noticed that the playlist on the Mac for voice memos has vanished
