Q: HDMI Handshake problems every 20 - 30 minutes - Color Inversion Issue

I got this HDMI issue on both of my AppleTV. Changed different HDMI cables.

Come on Apple, don't think I see it like a hobby, too!

Same here (if anyone wants to know this). I have a German ATV (in Holland we can not buy them yet).

Philips 8404
ATV2 only HDMI
tried different cables ports etc. Not the splitter yet.

ATV1 worked for 3 years without any problem on the same TV.

Same issue here with a Philips 37PFL9604. Apple is taking the ATV2 back and sending me a new one. Why? Doesn't make sense to exchange to another model with same error. Will cancel exchange and ask for a refund. Once fixed I can buy again.

Suggest Apple and Philips educate themselves here, get on a table and fix this:

Same problem here. I have a 55" LED *Samsung UE55C6005*. Both the TV and HDMI cable is brand new. And the same cable works flawlessly with the PS3.

C'mon Apple, give us the source code and we will do your homework!!

Change channel fixes problem. Sometime fixes itself.
Time in between occurrence appears random

Same problem: Philips 46 PFL 9704, other devices work without problems. After 20 to 30 minutes the screen "inverts". Tried other HDMI cables: no solution, obviously an Apple problem !

Same issue with a atv2 I've bought in France with a Philips 32" 8404... tried different cables, different sockets, updated the TV firmware too. still from time to time the colours invert... this goes away if I change channel. really, really annoying

I also have this problem - I'm from the UK and using a Sony Bravia LCD. I'm also using an HDMI cable that I've been using for our blu ray player - and it's been fine on that!

I'm having the exact same problem with my brand new UK Apple TV 2nd generation hooked up to a Sony KDL-37P3600. From what I know it clearly is a handshake problem between the 2 devices!
I've had the 1st Apple TV since it came out and never had a single problem

I'm using both Ethernet and Optical Audio if it helps to diagnose...

So it's clearly not just Germany, not just Philips, it happens with or without optical Audio, no one has cured the problem by swapping a lead, and no one has seen this effect from any other source but Apple TV rev 2.

Clearly in your camp Apple, the evidence seems conclusive.

It would be really nice to get an acknowledgement that there is a problem, and that you are working on it.

My Apple TV arrived yesterday. I had read about this issue before - and BINGO! - I have the same problem.

Same issue here with a Philips 37PFL9604. Apple took the ATV2 back and sent me a new one.
But the Same Problem. Updated the latest firmware - nothing changed.

Not a german problem. happening everywhere, just germany got ATV2 first.

this is STUPID! and no one at Apple support knows anything. all my devices are HDCP compatible and my ATV1 worked fine! this is issue with ATV2.

i also checked software update on the ATV2 and it says that i have the latest version. also for some reason the pictures that connect via Home Sharing from my iPhoto on the Mac really suck!

let's just admit it, ATV2 is a lousy implementation. I am going back to my ATV1

If everyone simply returns their ATV2, maybe Apple will get it fixed

Did not have this problem with my old ATV.
