Oct 6, 2010 11:47 AM in response to Mark J1by ItsMyNaturalColour,Try using an application called "MetaX." It can be used to gather the Meta data for all of your video files. I simply use it to change the video to "TV Show" before I import it into iTunes. This way it never goes into the movies folder and never appears in movies in Front Row.
It's also a great app for applying movie descriptions etc.
Hope this helps. -
Oct 17, 2010 1:41 PM in response to Mark J1by Scidude,The dougscript is fantastic! It has solved two long-standing problems that I have had at once. The first is the ever irritating tv shows and music videos showing up in the movies listing in Front Row. The second is adding descriptions to shows not purchased through iTunes. Amazing. Thanks so much! -
Nov 2, 2010 10:09 AM in response to Mark J1by bill5ter,I seem to be in the minority here as the script from Dougs site does not even work for me Is anybody having having issues with this too? -
Nov 13, 2010 3:00 PM in response to Mark J1by MooMuir,The only solution I've found is to use iFlicks (www.iflicksapp.com) BEFORE importing into iTunes. I've also turned off iTunes folder management... which is a little more painful, but 100% guarantees that my files end up in the right location. -
Nov 26, 2010 9:21 PM in response to Mark J1by Adam Cole,This might work for some, since I don't store all of my media files in one iTunes Media folder, I just moved the TV Shows folder to just ~/Music/ and it worked for me. -

Nov 29, 2010 9:34 AM in response to Adam Coleby Vassillios,Doug's Script actually worked for me. Now only if we could customize Front Row to sort by album instead of show. I like to label all of seasons into one show, say "Friends", and differentiate by labeling each season in the album are, say "Friends - Season 1". This way, in iTunes, my shows only show 1 entry friends but breaks down by season (this way my "shows" column is not littered. But front row allows you to sort by show and now I have 10 undescriptive "friends" entries and of course the album art does not have the season number on it. -
Dec 12, 2010 5:02 AM in response to Mark J1by drx1,The script did not work at first - for some reason it would hang. I did "allow" this "app" to run ... but I had to kill it. I do like the kill command.. but I was able to run it separately (run the app that calls the scrip) to FIX Apple's bug.

Dec 29, 2010 4:20 AM in response to drx1by Jaap74,I am having the same issue. Yesterday I deleted 1 season that appeared in 'Movies' from my iTunes Library and 'tagged' the files using 'Subler'. Then copied the season back into iTunes. It now appears in TV-shows.
Maybe this works for more of you with the same problem. -

Jan 29, 2011 12:11 PM in response to 2Marsby gnasher729,The "DougScript" script works fine, but Front Row doesn't take any notice of it unless it is forced to. That's why some people move the movie files to the desktop and back, but there is a much less painful way: After changing the movies using the script, use the Finder and go to your home directory, then to "Library", then "Caches", and delete the folder "com.apple.frontrow". -
Feb 4, 2011 12:29 AM in response to Mark J1by Brigadierbleu,The doug's script works great. Something I did notice was that you need something, anything, in the Episode ID field or the script can't find the entire show. You would have to point it to each episode individually. I used a '-' in the Episode ID field.
Also, I noticed I couldn't open the script through iTunes. I had to open it through Finder. Every time I tried to open it in iTunes, the script would freeze and I would have to Force Quit it. -

Sep 6, 2011 7:35 PM in response to Mark J1by neilcupm,1. Open iTunes
2. Go to your Movies library where you can view your episode titles.
3. For EACH Title get a Get Ifo window- highlight the Title and type Command I.
4. Go to the Video tab and enter the Series Name, Season Number, Epiode ID (ex Season 1 Ep3: 0103) and Episode Number.
5. Go to the Sorting tab: under Name enter episode number and title: 02 Name. In Artist and Album Artist, enter the Series name; under Album, enter Series Name, comma Season #; in Show, enter Series Name.
6. In the Options tab, under Media Kind pull down TV Show. Click OK.
(You can Copy Series name & Paste it as you need it repeatedly.)
As you OK each title they will move from the Movies library to the TV Shows library.
