Q: iTunes store temporarily unavailable?

I am getting the following message when I click to open the iTunes store:

"We could not complete your iTunes store request. The iTunes store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."

Is anyone else having this issue?

Thank you.

That's a relief! The store's always worked fine up until this point so I would hate for it to be a glitch on my end. Anyone else getting this message when trying to open the store?

Is this happening even to those with iTunes updated to the most current version?

I have had the same problem.. I went to go onto the ITunes story yesterday around 4:30ish, and it came up as "We could not complete your ITunes store request. The ITunes store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." So I tried going back onto it about 15 minutes ago, and I still got the same window popping up. I thought I did something wrong last time I used it, or something was wrong with my computer.. Glad to hear it's not only me!!

MichaelTX - for how long have you been having this issue? My iTunes is also outdated but I have not updated as I prefer my current interface and never update anything unless strictly necessary, it's just a hassle. I am really hoping this is not an issue of being blocked because of an old version...

P.S. I began getting this message this afternoon.

I first noticed it yesterday, though I hadn't tried to access the store in a week or so.

Thanks. Similar story here - had not accessed the store in at least a few days, problem started today. If anyone else would like to post this issue, please note if your iTunes is updated and how long you have been unable to get store access.

For those of us being blocked to the store, it may in fact be an issue of having an outdated version of iTunes that is no longer compatible with the store.

I am brand new to itunes, downloaded it 2 days ago, version 10 for my windows 7 64 bit, and I'm still not able to get my account working, keeps saying to try back later. This is starting to **** me off since I had bought the cards and trying to redeem them to get music.

I have been unable to get into the i-Tunes store since the weekend and it seems from the postings that others are in the same boat. Has anyone tried e-mailing to report the problem yet and received a response? I'm going to do that now. I'm sure they must be aware. As a tip - I have been unable to download from Amazon into my i-tunes, so its definitely an Apple problem.

Just checking, abigail. Do you have either SSL 3.0 or TLS 1.0 enabled, as per the following document? (Your message is another possible symptom of not having those settings in place.)
