Use the name they call you there when you add yourself as a contact on Apple TV.20" Intel iMac; 17" MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4), 2 GB RAM

Oh yes, my photo albums are all public.Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.5)
Currently Being ModeratedDec 9, 2010 4:53 AM (in response to JackDooner)No possibilty for login. You can find yourself and contacts. But you will have only a look to public photos. No to private ones.
Why ? Very good question. Flickr support tells nothing about that question hen you askl for. Which responsability Apple ? Flickr ?
At this instant no way for getting the answer.Mac Biook Pro, IMac
Currently Being ModeratedDec 18, 2010 3:31 PM (in response to JackDooner)Does anyone have any additional info on this subject. I understand that you are not logging into Flickr but I too cannot find myself using my Flickr username or any other information such as Yahoo id etc. Like others who have posted here ALL of my pictures are set to public on the privacy settings. The funny thing is I can find individual photos on Apple TV 2 by using key words from the title. It doesn't make sense not being able to find and add myself as a contact so I can view my photo stream anytime I want. Thanks for any help!IPhone 3G, iPhone OS 3.1.3

Gee this ain't good.
Apple has marketed this unit as allowing one to access pics from a Flickr user - right now it can't.
Maybe I should reconnect my old one and forgo the 80 watt saving

1.) Use the ID that Flickr greets you with when you login (case sensitive) - mine is 'AbyssalPlain'
2.) Make sure that your Flickr account settings (Privacy & Permissions tab) has the following setting:
"Hide your profile from public searches" set to OFF
there you go...iMac24, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

If you don't want these permanently set to OFF you can set them to OFF, log in on Apple TV, once logged in go back to your Flickr account settings and put them back ON.

What a convoluted mess! I loved MobileMe Galleries on my AppleTV, but with the demiss of Galleries I was looking for a solution. I had hope Flickr would be it; however, you can't view your photos unless they are made PUBLIC for eveyrone to see. Come on Apple.

My issue as well. Mobliek Me Gallery was so easy to work with and made the whole Apple experience worth it.
If Apple doens't make adjustments with the abiltiy to authenticate Flickr beyond the Public option, where do we go?
Does anyone have a suggestion.

Hi guys, not much new to add but wanted to clarify for others who may be searching other discussions here because there is some wrong info on them. As mentioned earlier in the thread... Pay cloe attention to the name you are greeted with once you are logged in to Flickr- that is the contact you are trying to add to ATV ( you are not logging into you account - that is not possible with ATV ). this is important because other discussion post have said to use some of the text in the URL you have when you are logged into you flickr account and that is just plain WRONG. also you will have to ensure that your profile settings are searchable *AND* you have some photo set to public viewing ( private photo will not display).
I love what apple is trying to do with ATV but parts need to be re-thought and made better and could all be done with a soft update - hopefully before MobileMe functionality runs out .
should be able to access/login to many more services including full Flickr (private photos too) and tumbler, Vimeo , etc etc

If you have an Apple TV and you want to view your Flikr pictures on it... the only way that it will work is:
-Login to your Flikr account on the main website(either on a laptop, Pc or iPad)
-at the top right where it says Signed in as (whoever you are).... Click on that
-Then where it says your account and directly underneath that, click the second tab (Privacy & Permisions)
-Unfortunately the big thing to consider here is that once you click on that second tab, you'll see Global settings and directly underneath that Global settings you'll see who can access your main images... NO ONE AS YOU HAVE A FREE ACCOUNT!
So to summarise, if you have NOT got the Pro account or another word you only have a FREE account then you will not be able to enjoy all your lovely pictures on your Apple TV.
Hope this help as I have haven't managed to find a single Forum with any indication why mine doesn't work.

Corrections to my last post..
up to the point "-Then where it says your account and directly underneath that, click the second tab (Privacy & Permissions)" Follow these instruction instead..
Then scroll to the bottom or around midway, you'll see "Hide your stuff from Public searches" & "Hide your Profile from Public searches"... edit both of these to say NO.
When you search for your PROFILE on your Apple TV, ensure its case sensitive or type it in exactly how it appears on your Flikr account...
