Nov 6, 2010 10:19 PM in response to laurie solleby eww,The Optidisc page on Memorex's web site says to confirm its compatibility by contacting the maker of your drive, and also says to be cautious about using it in slot-loading drives (most CD and DVD drives are tray-loaders, and it's very unlikely for a disc to get stuck in them).
If you are hearing the normal eject sound, the problem evidently is that the disc is not properly aligned with the slot in the computer's case, and is encountering too much friction or resistance to make its way out through the slot.
If not even a small part of the disc is making it out through the fabric-lined slot in the Powerbook's case before it gives up and begins spinning the disc again, there are only two things I can think of to suggest short of removing the drive from the Powerbook, taking off its top cover and removing the disc manually (which is the method of last resort).
1) insert a thin paper or plastic card (such as a business card) about 1/4" into the center of the slot, aiming it slightly downward so that if the disc is missing the slot low, the card will guide it upward toward the slot. If that doesn't work, try angling the card upward instead (easiest if the edge of the computer is even with the edge of the desk or table supporting it.)
2. If neither of those approaches works, try holding the computer upside down (lie on your back and hold it above you) while you try to eject the disc. *Caution: Don't* move the computer around suddenly or quickly while the disc is spinning in the drive, particularly upside down. -
