Currently Being ModeratedNov 10, 2010 7:46 AM (in response to spiring)I have had this very frustrating problem for the last week. I contacted iTunes email support, and they directed me to this discussion board...Great, I feel so much better knowing that I'm not the only one with the problem. I've tried all the fixes suggest: flush DNS server, making sure certain boxes were checked, checking the time and date change, checking my account settings, resetting all account settings. The only thing I haven't tried is upgrading to a newer version of iTunes...but I've read on the discussion board that some have done so still to no avail! APPLE PULL YOUR HEAD OUT AND GET THIS FIXED!!!!!Samsung SyncMaster753DF, Windows XP, Older computer, works great

Currently Being ModeratedNov 10, 2010 9:01 AM (in response to Darin Loertscher)Some problem here. I'm unable to update any of my apps or access the store via my iPhone or my Mac Pro. I haven't had a chance to try any of my other macs yet. This has been going on for at least two or three days for me.

It would be great if iTunes could address a fix for this issue that will work for all users. Even a post or note concerning this widespread issue from Apple would be appreciated.Windows Vista
Currently Being ModeratedNov 11, 2010 12:21 PM (in response to abigail88)Hello Everyone,
I am also having the same problem! I have older version of iTunes, I never thought to update it because I was just fine with what version I had. Know the this error that comes up and states "your requested item is not available in the US". This is when trying to enter the homepage and last time a check I am in the US. Someone also states that they can still search for music and buy; I am the same way that is all I can do. I can not even go and update my balance on money have to buys songs. Has anyone given anyone a solution to fix the problem?Windows 2003, Windows Vista
Currently Being ModeratedNov 12, 2010 8:28 AM (in response to abigail88)I have been having a similar problem as well, in addition to an unauthorized purchase on my account. I have submitted a trouble ticket to Apple as follows. I will be updating this forum with the response I receive.
I received an email yesterday (November 11, 2010) from PayPal concerning a charge of $3.22 from the iTunes store. Upon logging in to my iTunes account and looking at past purchases, I do not see a purchase totaling this amount. I have tried to expedite the handling of this problem by calling your telephone support line, but the only recourse is to send electronic communication through your website. It took your support staff longer to explain to me how to get to this web page than it took for me to explain my problem to her in the first place.
In addition to the problem above, a new problem has reared its head this morning. I am now unable to get into the iTunes store at all. When attempting to gain access to the iTunes store, I am now greeted with the message: "Your request could not be completed. The item you've requested is not currently available in the US store.
As a side note, I am not upgrading my software at this time. If this issue cannot be resolved without a software upgrade, I will discontinue my use of the iTunes store.
My phone number is **-***-***. You can also reach me toll free at **-***-***.
Thank you for your assistance.

Currently Being ModeratedNov 12, 2010 6:07 PM (in response to abigail88)Please don't update to itunes 10 if your stuff is old like mine. I initially thought it might be the cause of not getting into the store - 10 isn't compatible with Tiger OS. I've only just registered after having a Mac for years. I did use the forums for info years ago. It used to be such a happy place!
Anyhow I got in via - Store pull down menu; Search.. option; artist name (Springsteen or Christine Schäfer); click on artist name on right; then click on genre (rock or classical in these cases). The home house icon and the music icon are still not working and give the 'we could not complete...store is temporarily unavailable' error message when clicked, but the itunes STORE menu on the left does seem to give access to the app store, music videos, other genres.. I'm logged in with my itunes id automatically. I haven't bought anything yet, and this is with itunes 8, but... I hope work around is some help.ibook G4, Mac OS X (10.4.11), itunes 8

Currently Being ModeratedNov 13, 2010 10:27 AM (in response to Vogon-Poet)Thanks for the info. I tried flushing the DNS and it didn't work; I still get the same "temporarily unavailable" message. But then I have a different operating system than you. From what I understand, some fixes don't work with other people, and many of them do not work at all.
Oh, well, I can still get around the issue for now accessing through podcasts, but if that goes one day, too ... all I can say is that iTunes isn't the only music service out there. I was going to purchase an iPod but now I think I'll just get an MP3 player instead.Windows XP

That link talks about if you can't connect to the iTunes store. I can connect and so can many others. It's the homepage that gives the error.
Currently Being ModeratedNov 13, 2010 2:46 PM (in response to bru2)Nothing has changed on my side (connectivity, hardware, configuration etc) but now I receive a completely different message referring to 'item requested is not available in the US store' so Apple has jacked around with something ... can't believe this issue has dragged on so long.
Currently Being ModeratedNov 13, 2010 7:33 PM (in response to abigail88)I'm getting that it cant connect to the store only when I'm trying to buy something. I can browse the store fine, but when I try to buy I have a problem. Can someone fix this or help?

I think the iTunes servers are having a problem.24" iMac 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo/1 TB/8 GB; MBP 17" C2D, Mac OS X (10.6.5), Parallels v5 with Win7 x64; iPod Touch 2G; iPhone 3GS (4.1); iPhone 4 (4.1)

iTunes and Ping not working on my end. I'm using an iMac and MacBook Pro with 10.6.4. Everything was fine with the "old" iTunes that I had yesterday. This morning, I did the iTunes software update and suddenly nothing is working. This is definitely a problem on Apple's end, whether they admit it or not. We're all having the same problems at the same time---pretty obvious. I also got a Ping error message that told me something about an issue with my Windows computer (I am 100% Mac and have never owned a Windoze). The iTunes store also told me that my password was wrong---which it is not. I reset the password to the same one that it already was---still not working. Come on, Apple.....geez.
I also have an iPhone 3GS, and just a moment ago I did an App Update for 4 Apps, and it worked just fine.27 inch iMac and MacBook Pro 15 inch 2.4 GHz, Mac OS X (10.6.4), Airport Extreme and Airport Express for printing

I try to open the iTunes homepage, but it tells me that 'this item is currently unavailable in the US.' I have no money in my account and no way to deposit my gift card with this error. Is there a different way to redeem gift cards than by accessing the iTunes homepage?Windows XP
