    Yep, just downloaded.

Will we need an AppleTV update for video Airplay?

I'm a little confused: It says "Use AirPlay to instantly and wirelessly stream videos from iTunes to the all-new Apple TV."

Well, we have already been able to stream video from iTunes to the new AppleTV ever since it was released several weeks ago. That is, the new AppleTV can be configured to 'pull' video content from iTunes on your Mac. So how does iTunes 10.1 change anything?

On the other hand, does 10.1 mean we can now initiate the playing of video content right inside iTunes and have it 'pushed' to the AppleTV? If that is what is involved in the new update then it is not working for me. Only audio can be 'pushed' to the AppleTV. But that was the case even before the 10.1 update.

    Perhaps someone can enlighten us?

I have exactly same doubt. How to stream from Itunes 10.1 Movies and Tv Shows directly from
my MacBook Pro to Apple Tv 2nd generation ?

Only music appears on AirPlay icon in the botton right side. Any idea ?

No. It means it is using AirPlay, not simply wifi.
AirPlay allows you to send send audio/video from your iDevices to iTunes/AppleTV and from iTunes to AppleTV and iTunes on other computers
Only audio can be 'pushed' to the AppleTV.

When AppleTV gets updated, then you will be able to push audio & video from you iDevices to AppleTV.

But Chris, that is not what it says. It says:

"Use AirPlay to instantly and wirelessly stream videos *+from iTunes+* to the all-new Apple TV."

That is entirely different than streaming from your iDevice which we know is coming with iOS 4.2.

With 10.1 you can now remove Ping from the source menu.

Note that I edited my post above…

Pretty sure AppleTV will also need to be updated.

Woohoo - probably worth downloading just for that!

Looks like we get to wait for the TV update.

Lunar, you get the prize..... Ping is now unchecked in my iTunes.. Thanks.

Ping can be hidden - good
Unfortunately it looks like the ability to show 1/2 star ratings is gone.

Has 10.1 brought back Drag & Drop?

It's a dreadful nuisance not being able to drag from iTunes to the Desktop, a Finder window or another app. I wonder if the loss of this functionality was intentional (if so, why?), or is this something which Apple will get round to fixing.

Jim, it's working for me. Just dragged a music track from ITunes to a folder on my Desktop. And I have always been able to drag TV Showes out of iTunes. In fact that is the way I backup and archive the content I have purchased.
