    Hi,

I work for JVC and would like to try and help.

Yesterday I tested iMovie 11 with recordings from all possible JVC camcorders, including SD Everio, HD Everio and Picsio. They all import easily, and they all work great.

    No problems--Smooth sailing.

Does the JVC Everio GZ-MG330 import easily into imovie 08? If not how can i fix this?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I have the JVC Everio GZ -MS215SAA and iMovie 11.  A few days ago, after first getting my iMac and plugged in my Everio via USB and iMovie opened and prompted me to import the footage. This was easy and I repeated with 2 other SD cards in the Everio.

I've just put my final SD card in and tried to repeat the same process but iPhoto opens instead.  If I open iMovie>File>Import from camera, it comes up with a "looking for cameras and devices" box with JVC GZ-MS215S in the box but after the search is complete, the only camera option to select (from the bottom left) is the built in face time camera.

I've read on a lot of forums that files need to be converted but haven't found anything regarding my model and iMovie 11.

I've never changed the record setting on the camera (recorded to all SD's using the same settings) and don't understand why it was so simple to import footage a few days ago but seems impossible now.

I hope you can help me and let me know where I'm going wrong.

    Thanks

    Rhino

    Hi Chris !

I will just copie my problem here:

(hope you can help me out...)

    My macbook : Intel Core 2 Duo 2,26GHz Late 2009 Unibody with OSX 10.8.2 (iMovie'11 - 9.0.8)

    My video-camera : JVC Everio GZ-HM545 (same as 550, but no bluetooth/wifi) (bought 28 June 2012)

When I ran on OSX 10.6.7, I connected this camera (USB-cable) & I had NO problem importing videos/photo's into iMovie...  :-)

    :,-(  ...Then I updated to OSX 10.8.2...  :,-(

Since this moment, my camera can no longer be recognized by my macbook...(?!)

I have NO IDEA, except that maybe the problem lies @ Apple... (? drivers ?)

I tried (almost) every connecting-procedure people write on the internet... Nope... Nothing...

    Any advice...?

    Thanks, Herman.

PS: there's a long way to circle around the problem, but it can not be "the right way to do"...

    * If I recorded a film on the internal memory (32GB flash), I put in the spare-slot another 32GB-SDHC-card & select "copie file to SDHC-card" > connect the SDHC-card via a USB-adapter > "decode" the found file(s) via Quicktime & import then into iMovie...

But hey, what's the use of the delivered USB-connection-cable of the camera...?

    * Shorter version > record directly on the SDHC-card in the slot, but what's then the use of the internal 32GB memory...?!

    Best regards, Herman.
