I can take the information off of it if I have to. I still can not find any thing useful to an amateur in terminal. Is there anything I can do with the pgpboot.iso.cdr from this angle?
I am becoming a little bitter toward these pgp people. On their website they say this mess is Apples fault. I guess I would agree as Apple must of hired them to do this project. I have spent way too much time trying to recover from this.iMac & MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.6.1)

- i had OSX 10.6.4 & PGP WDE
- i made the 10.6.5 update an some other like java an HP print client...
- after having this well known boot issue i spend a lot of time to figure out how to fix it
- unfortunately i thought it might be a good idea to make a image of the whole disk and reinstall OSX again
- now everything works fine but all my data is gone... so my question is: is there any way to get the image (*.dmg) of the non bootable disk back on my mac? i already tried to boot from cd and restore the image with the disc utilities programm... but an error occurred which says that this image isn´t bootable. well it doesn´t matter to me because i just want to restore from this dmg and recover my system with the previously posted tipps.

I pay PGP $200/yr + for licensing and "support" which I never invoked before, but now that I have, I will not pay for their products ever again. I got stuck in a neverending loop of useless links about "how" to get support, none of them actually explaining how to get support, except the one suggesting I pay $3.00/minute for phone support or wait > 28 minutes for live chat.
You can download their "cdboot.iso.cdr" recovery disk which they expect you to burn in disk utility -- and uh, you cant boot your mac, so you're probably like me and borrowing somebodys PC.. tried linux, tried windows, USELESS.
I opted to wait the 28 minutes for a chat rep who advised me to rename it .iso (which didnt work in and of itself) and then download "ultra iso" to burn it.
Of course to use THAT i had to install the Intel Storage Matrix. (Have an AMD? You're screwed.) and yes finally after 3 hours of my life that ill never get back my mac boots again.

Following PGP's boot disc instructions doesn't let me get into the Mac OS side, just the Windows side. Their support is aware of the Bootcamp issue here but hasn't been any help. I'd very much like to wipe and rebuild my entire laptop - can I just format the drive and start over without decrypting? What are my options here? thanks, my laptop isn't terribly usable at the moment!13" MBP, Mac OS X (10.6.5)

Now that I'm here, should I not do any further patches from Apple until PGP does a patch? Anything to watch out for at this point?
