Nov 18, 2010 5:48 AM in response to Carolyn Samitby jensvp,I should have mentioned I did a Google search before posting so I had seen these, but thank you very much.
In my case I do not have a new router. Though I am in a new place but the internet here is wired and I plugged in my existing router.
Any other ideas? -
Sep 30, 2015 7:41 AM in response to jensvpby RFB,My hubby was having a similar problem under his name on my MacBook Pro. I always use AdBlock but he did NOT use it. This page from Apple Support Communities helped me. Safari is frozen by malware. A pop up window from pctechief.com says "Security at Risk" "Your PC has detected a virus attack on your browser" "Contact Customer Support at 1-855-704-1387 (Toll Free)"
I did not disable any extensions but I did use "force quit" several times. Luckily for me when I quit Safari the last time and reopened it Safari realized I had been having problems and asked if i'd like to reopen Safari WITHOUT restoring the previous session. Maybe that will happen for you if the other options don't work. Opening Safari while holding the "shift" key is another option you could try.
By the way, I have now installed AdBlock Plus under his name as well!
