Q: AirPrint on iPod 3rd gen 8GB

Can anyone confirm they have Airprint working on an 8GB 3rd gen touch? I know there were a lot of features in iOS4 that only were enabled for the 16GB and larger touches.

When I double tap home key I get the home screen still.

iPod Touch 3G 8GB iOS 4.2, Mac OS X (10.6.5), iOS4.2 and urftopdf installed

Despite some dealers incorrectly referring to an 8GB iPod touch that came with iOS 3 as "3rd generation", there is no 3rd-generation 8GB iPod touch. You have a 2nd-generation iPod touch, and that cannot run AirPrint nor can it multitask.

    Regards.

Interesting. At least AirPlay works on it.

You have a 2nd gen iPod touch which doesn't support Airprint.

on the Apple website it only says must have os 4.2. Yes, I downloaded and installed it etc... I have an 8gb itouch, yes, come to find out, does not support AirPrint. This is a BS money grab from Apple. So the question is: Do I return the new HP Printer or get a new iTouch? Guess I could go through the hassle of ePrinting everything. Apple should offer a trade-in program, not so Happy with them right now. Is the "AirHead" update available yet? or is that just for internal Apple use only.

I don't blame you for being ****** about buying a so-called "3rd-Gen iPod" that turned out to have 2nd-Gen guts in it.

Apple should have been much more clear on what they were selling, but Apple is still confusing the issue today since they are still selling these 2nd-Gen iPods as a "previous generation" model, and TODAY the previous version is a 3rd-Gen iPod (since they are now selling 4th-Gen iPods):

"Refurbished iPod touch, 8GB (previous generation)"

Apple, do the right thing and issue some credit vouchers for the people who unfairly bought this older crap!

At least, change your dang web site to clearly tell consumers that you are selling them older 2nd-Gen iPods that can't run IOS-4!
