I create a "New To Do" by right-clicking in the body of an email. I then type in the text and see it correctly in top of the email. But when I quit and restart Mail, the To Do is blank. It is still there but there is no text. What I typed has disappeared. I have a list of blank To Dos. Does anyone know how to fix this? I believe this started months ago when I upgraded to Safari 5.

I have this SAME exact problem using Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro (late 2008 model).

It's annoying..... after I create a "To Do" task I have to copy & paste the TITLE back into Mail as the field appears blank every time.

So, every time I create a NEW "To Do", by right clicking on the supporting email, I automatically copy & paste the title name.

HELP APPLE HELP! This is ridiculous for business users.

Same problem here. It started with Safari v.5. When I create a To do item from an e-mail by right-clicking any text in the body of the e-mail and then assign a due date, the description of the to do item disappears. I have to copy & paste the text in the reminders view list.

Similar problem here, I have 2 scenarios:
    1. With Exchange based email. Right click email to create to do seems normal. After enter all the information if go to Reminders > To Do the to do is blank. Go back to email and blank there again.

    2. With IMAP account: Right click email and create to do however the to do yellow paper look alike that drops down doesn't show the standard "to do check box". And when enter to do doesn't even show a blank to do in the "Reminders > To do" list.

Same problem. This effective breaks all To Do functionality in OS X. It also renders any Task Management app that integrates with Apple Mail or iCal as useless. Including Cultured Code's Things, Apigo's ToDo Sync, etc.

    Has Apple acknowledged this bug?

I have the same problem and frustrations. I used the Mail feedback button and would encourage anyone else with the same issue to do the same. The problem has been around for some while and Apple really needs to take note that this is hurting business users... just fix it already dammit...

I am also having the same problem. I have two accounts, one IMAP one POP. To-dos on messages from both accounts are affected.

I just tried saving the to-dos "On My Mac" vs on the server - no difference.

The Safari 5.0.4 update fixed this problem for me.
