Folks, my Mac Pro recently started reverting to self-assigned IP on one of its two ethernet ports. I checked several boards, did the safe mode, ifw flush in Terminal, reset PRAM, change firewall settings, disable IPv6, etc. to no avail. It still gets self-assigned.

Though with my other ethernet port, it works just fine and both ethernet ports are configured (in the advanced settings) the same.

I tried WaterRoof as well, but kept getting Applescript errors (The command exited with a non-zero status. (152)).

Any ideas folks?

This self-addigned business with DHCP has plagued the Mac OS for many versions now is getting old and wearing thin.
