In the Options tab the Media Kind should be "AudioBook" and remember playback position and skip when shuffling should be checked.17" 2.5GHz MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4), 16Gb nano 4G and 6G, 60Gb iPod video, 16Gb touch, 40Gb Apple TV
Currently Being ModeratedDec 8, 2010 6:50 AM (in response to Stephen Spark)Should this be done for every book? My new Nano is not remembering where I left off listening, and it's driving me nuts! Also, I need to charge it every 3 days, and as soon as I connect it to the usb to charge, it forgets where I left off listening. I'm going to try your suggestions---be back after I do this. But, so far I have had no luck with keeping my book mark on the new Nano.iMac desktop, Mac OS X (10.5.7), Leopard 2GB
Currently Being ModeratedDec 8, 2010 11:00 AM (in response to AngieRK007)This would depend on where you get your audiobooks from. Audible and iTunes audiobooks should have all the appropriate options already set.
I have found, and read a few reports here, syncing an iPod touch or iPhone after the nano does wipe out the bookmarks for some audiobooks and podcasts in iTunes 10. As a work around I try to not sync my touch once the nano has been connected, I plug the touch in first then the nano.17" 2.5GHz MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4), 16Gb nano 4G and 6G, 60Gb iPod video, 16Gb touch, 40Gb Apple TV
Currently Being ModeratedFeb 22, 2011 10:15 AM (in response to emkwan)I'n having the same problem. I do get my audiobooks from Audible and other places. When my nano goes beyond the 36 hour standby mode, it loses its place in the audiobook, which is exasperating. I tried the suggestion above, but it appears the files are marked as Audiobooks and the correct checkboxes are marked to keep my place.
Any suggestions?Windows 7
Currently Being ModeratedFeb 25, 2011 10:57 AM (in response to emkwan)Am having the same problem. Just made changes to most of my Audio Books as suggested and will let you know.
However, simple question, how to return to the audio book so that it starts off in the same place I stopped it? Specifically, what steps to I take to access it at the point where I left off. "Currently playing" doesn't work.
