Hi ,

every time something goes wrong with my Hotmail account, I delete it and re-add it to my iP. However, it seems to be adding a new (or rather the same but a copy) outgoing SMTP server to the list rather than using the existing.

Any way to delete and just leave the active one?

Thanks very much.

You can delete the duplicate SMTP servers one by one. Select the server you want to delete which allows for viewing the SMTP server settings and turning the SMTP server on or off along with a delete option for the SMTP server.

    You're welcome.

When selecting one of the other SMTP servers to view the settings for the SMTP server, you can turn the SMTP server on but you can't delete the SMTP server - there is no Delete SMTP server selection even after turning the SMTP server on?

You can change the SMTP server settings for the selected SMTP server, but no Delete Server selection at the bottom?

    If so, strange.

Is this the only email accountt you are accessing with the iPhone's Mail app?

There used to be a workaround http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2442324 but with iOS 4.2.1 this "feature" seems to have been removed.
