I'm having a very frustrating problem. The mix I bounce to iTunes from WaveBurner is not representative of the mix I hear while I'm working in the WaveBurner program. In Waveburner I'm happy with the sound and overall output level (no peaks or anything) I then bounce the mix as a 24 bit WAVE and click the box for Interleaved Dithering. Then once I hear the mix in iTunes I get peaking that was not there when I was listing to the project in WaveBurner. Also, after I bounce the mix from WaveBurner I never get a peaking warning and in fact my peak level on the result log is always between a comfortable -1.0dB and -0.5dB.
Any advice or suggestions?

    Hi Sam,

the only thing that came across my mind is that you may have EQ on inside iTunes.
Hence the peaks. Turn it off and tell me if it solved.

    Peace,

I had a similar problem. It took me a while to figure it out. It turned out to be a preference in iTunes called "sound enhancer". Sound enhancer completely changes the sound of a mix. It changes EQ, and appears to add DSP or reverb. Go to iTunes preferences>playback tab, and turn off sound enhancer. I think it used to be on by default in older versions of iTunes.
