I am looking to purchase a new scanner for my iMac and looking at the Canon 700F and the Canon LiDE 210. Are there any problems with the drivers etc when setting up and using either of these models. Any suggestions of other suitable Scanners for use with this computer. Many thanks for any help.

    Hello red:

I have been using a Canon 8400F on three different iMacs (running oS X 10.5 and also OS X 10.6). The scanner has performed flawlessly. I have had the scanner for several years so I have no experience with other models.

Thanks for the info Barry. I will look into all possibilities as I don't want to end up with lack of compatibility.

I have the LiDE200 and it works fine with Image Capture and Preview. The driver was included with one of the Canon updates hosted via Apple and part of Software Update. Checking the [latest Canon update|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#canon] hosted by Apple, the LiDE210 and LiDE700F are both included as supported scanners.

Thanks for all your replies. I've decided to go for the LiDE 210 as I only want a basic scanner and not into film and slides. Hope it also works with Windows 7 as well but iMac is my priority.

    Thanks again, John
