I have a macbook pro 15 running 10.5.8.
drive info : MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-868:

Firmware Revision: KB19
Interconnect: ATAPI
Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipping Drive)
Cache: 0 KB
Reads DVD: Yes
CD-Write: -R, -RW
DVD-Write: -R, -RW
Write Strategies: CD-TAO, CD-SAO, DVD-DAO
Media: Insert media and refresh to show available burn speeds

I tried burning a dvd yesterday with:

1.) toast lite, toast titanium. but no luck. at first it was "preparing" for about 30 minutes so i cancelled it. and then the second try, here's the code i got:

a)the device failed to caliberate the laser power level for this media
b)sense key=medium error
sesne code=0x73, 0x03

2.) i tried burning with the application "burn" but it also did not function.

3.) i tried creating a burn folder but also no luck.
(whats the use of burn folder? if it doesnt work?) i tried then to burn data on a normal cd with creating a burn folder but also no luck.

4.)i just burned an audio cd with itunes and it went 100% fine.

i usually burn only (audio) cd's. but i never use any apps. i rather do it all through itunes as it is easier for me. why is this problem happening? and why cant i burn any dvds? i used a fuji dvd and also an apple dvd so the quality is there....

today i was also burning cd's and i burned 9 audio cds with no problem using itunes... by the 10th cd i got this message

"the attempt to burn a disc failed. the burn failed because of a medium write error."

help please.
