Q: IDVD will not launch to burn DVD

In my iMovie HD 5.0.2, the iDVD will not launch to burn a DVD. I have tried everything. When clicking the iDVD, it says to go to Finder to launch. In Finder, I go to applications and click iDVD and get:You cannot use this version of the application iDVD with this version of Mac OSX.
What are my options???

PowerPC G4 1.5 GHz, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Purchase and install iLife 06 or newer, and then run Software Update.

Just a little confused. I already have iphoto, imovie, garage band etc that would be in a ilife download so what are the benefits? Currently, when I click for software upgrades, there are none. Would downloading ilife really change anything?
