Jan 20, 2011 3:02 PM in response to Whitecityby Seph,If you have an older keyboard which doesn't have a little rectangular icon on the F3 key, you need to press F9 instead. If you want to see only the windows for the current application, press Control+F3 or F10.
As for actually arranging the windows, many applications have an option to cascade their windows by holding down Option and choosing Window > Arrange in Front from the menu bar (when Option is not pressed, this command is Bring All to Front). The Finder doesn't have this feature, though other Apple apps do. Other applications may have their own similar features. For example MS Word has an Arrange All command which tiles the open windows. Photoshop has an Arrange menu with options for both cascading and tiling (and others depending on the version). -

Feb 7, 2013 4:30 PM in response to Sephby edpurves,Excellent tip. Do they always centre on the Arrange in front though? Would be nice to position one window to the side and have the rest follow suit...
Thanks

Sep 24, 2015 1:50 AM in response to sigby CholNairobi,This doesn't help. I wish to work on two documents simultaneously, or at least view 2 documens simultaneously, SIDE BY SIDE, not split horizontally, which the programme seems to want to do.
So the question remains: how do I view and work on two documents simultaneously?

Sep 24, 2015 6:55 AM in response to CholNairobiby BobHarris,What program?
There are utilities available to give some Microsoft Windows management functionality (BetterTouchTool, BetterSnapTool, are 2 that I know about, but there are others out there).
Could you not just open each document window, size and position the windows so they are where you want them, side-by-side?
NOTE: This is a very old thread (2011), so it might not get much traffic. You may get more views by creating a new thread, explaining what you desire, and with what program (or programs).
