Q: My nephew's ancient monitor and new PowerBook
My nephew just acquired and an elderly Apple monitor and would like to use it with his MacBook Pro. He clearly needs some sort of an adapter but I don't recall ever having seen cables in this configuration.
From the monitor, he has a USB cable, a typical looking Monitor cable and a cable with a round male end with three prongs. There doesn't appear to be an obvious power cable. That third one is completely new to my eyes. I'm sorry I don't know the proper terms but I have used Apple laptops for so long, I am lost when it comes to monitors.
Does anyone have any idea what he is looking at or if there is a way to use it with his MBPro?
Thanks for trying.

You are missing the power supply that should have come with the display.

If you have a choice, get a power supply made for a bigger display. It will last longer.
